Join the new world

Yesterday ended up being a fairly good day. All German attacks were successful, all French attacks failed, the American attack on the UK went well, and Bulgaria is more solidly into EDEN’s sphere and signing multiple MPPs with EDEN states. On the other hand, B+H was wiped out by Serbians as expected, the Baltic states are still engulfed in a complex war, and peace will soon be had with the UK.

Germany on the Ropes

Yesterday was a happy day in Central Europe; Poland, Sweden, and Italy all won their battles without much effort. Those battles led to Sweden gaining a new fruit resources and Poland and Italy gaining resources they already had.
As it stands, Italy and Poland border Germany, Poland is successfully attacking. The Polish attack on Hesse is currently being won by Poland, 6-0. If Poland is successful they will gain their 9th resource, aluminum. The elusive rubber will be the only thing they are missing which may lead to them attacking the sole owner of European rubber, France. The attack on Hesse has cut Italy off from further attacks. That may be because Poland wants to be the one who wipes out Germany to gain all of the companies in Germany, many of which may originally be theirs from their occupation for grain months ago.
While all this seems great, and is great, German is fighting back through the use of multiple RW’s.Alfagrem, a British citizen, has started four of these RW’s in Italian held Austrian regions, and two more RW’s were started in the Italian-German territories. Unfortunately eRepublik has always had a bug that refurses to show who started the RW’s on the society page and I can’t say who started the German ones. It is highly likely it was Alfagrem. While this may seem terrible, as it stands Phoenix has only won 5 total mini-battles, with Italy winning 31. These regions will almost certainly stay within Italy’s hands.


The British Front


Once again America was successful in their attack yesterday on the British region of West Midlands. That attack has led to the UK being devoid of any iron regions, hurting their domestic weapon production significantly. Unfortunately for those who love a good whipping of the traditional traitor in eRepublik, this front is coming to a peaceful close. The reason that peace is being made is as of now unclear, however President Frost has shouted something that may give a hint of the reasoning,
“It's dangerous playing Russian Roulette when one of the guys has nothing to lose.”
What that means is anyone’s guess, however I think it probably means that America has something better to gain someplace else. It is unknown if America will be keeping any of the British regions, but if it is anything like the last British peace, we will be giving them all back .

Bosnia and Herzegovina erased

After the expected success of the Serbian attack on B+H, the EDEN member has left the map. This has led to all Bosnian companies being moved permanently to Serbia, and Serbia gaining both grain and deer, both of which help the making of food. That was not the only battle Serbia won, however. They also successfully defended against a Croatian attack and have now launched the counterattack on the region of Lika and Gorski Kotar
. Fortunately Croatia seems to be winning in this battle against the Phoenix giant 3-0, however, even if Serbia does win it will not have terrible consequences; Croatia will lose their only deer region, but it is highly unlikely Serbia will wipe out another EDEN member so soon. Croatia also has the benefit of a much larger MPP stack that B+H had.

The Baltic States; A huge mess

Background info on the Baltic States: For a very long time all 3 of the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania going north to south) were in Phoenix. Latvia was the largest and most powerful of the 3 nations, however it was boxed in by allies on all sides: Russia, Estonia, and Lithuania (Belarus wasn’t added yet). To cope with this Estonia would allow Latvia to swap through its regions to fight with Finland. Eventually Estonia got annoyed by this setup and stopped letting Latvia through. After being very bored for a long time the Latvians invaded Estonia in June during the Chocolate Mcskittles administration, and Phoenix took Estonia’s side, and wiped out Latvia for retribution. In an act of kindness EDEN liberated Latvia and ever since Latvia has been with EDEN.



Right now Lithuania is attacking (swapping) with Estonia. This attack has caused Lithuania to lose many of its allies and will cost hundreds of gold to fix. Latvia is also being attacked by Lithuania, and is losing 7-4, it is likely that they will be more successful in later attacks after Lithuania has less allies. Up from north Latvia is being helped out; Finland is attacking the Estonian region of Louna-Eesti. Right now it is tied 3-3.


Today we have a mix of the good and the bad. We were successful in the defense of Spain, Canada, and Greece. We are also very close to the elimination of a minor Phoenix state. The bad is here too though, we cannot become complacent. We cannot allow any more EDEN states to lose all of their regions. Losing even 10 companies is at least 200 gold down the drain. Losses like that are not acceptable and besides the economic challenge presented by the losses, they will also embitter allies. For months, from Latvia in the past, to Bulgaria right now, EDEN has been gaining members, and power. It would be a pity if we lost all that.
