As The World Stands

Day 1,104, 08:44 Published in USA USA by Professor Oak

My previous article discussed the loyalties of nations. This article, and articles with similar titles will be about the international war between EDEN and Phoenix. They will be similar to Sossu’s articles.

Major talking points

As the world sits today: (this is talking about the major topics and theaters today)

The UK
Germany
Spain

Musings of a Professor

Russia
Iran
South America
Central/Eastern Asia

The UK

What is happening:
Relatively speaking, this front is quiet now. There are only two battles going on right now. One battle is the Canadian attack on East of England (yellow arrow). Currently the Canadians are winning seven battles to three; if the battle continues going their way they will be able to attack London themselves. The other battle is a direct result of the American lose in London. It is the British attack on South East of England (pink arrow). Right now, at America 7 UK 2, it looks like America will win and both Canada and America will have the opportunity to attack London. Unfortunately the Admin no longer allow multiple attacks on one region.

EDIT: Canada won their battle and have now attacked London. I wish our brothers to the north good luck.

Musings:
Yesterday was a sad night. Once again America was not able to take London, the British Capital. The last time America attacked it was months ago in Josh Frosts second term, I believe. On the bright side it looks like either Canada or America will soon be able to attack London soon. If battles continue as they are going the UK will soon be down to West Midlands and London only. It seems to me that Phoenix only helps the UK in London.

Germany

What is happening:
French Region (circled in blue)- All three French regions are being Resistance War’d. These seem to be damage drains by EDEN that are working amazingly. Right now the battle heroes on both sides of every battle are Phoenix aligned showing that they are confused. The only battle that I can find the originator shows that it was a Pole that started the battle. This confirms that they are damage drains. It seems that France is trying to hold the regions for now.
Polish region of Brandenburg Berlin (yellow arrow)- This is the last Polish occupied German region. It has high grain. Right now it is being RW’d by a German. I believe it is a damage drain because it was RW’d instead of a conventionally attacked which means it is less likely to succeed but only Polish damage would be taken. Poland does not gain much by having the region, other than keeping it away from Germany seeing that Poland has 2 other high grain regions, one of which is very safe in the USA.
Nothing is happening in the Swedish regions
Musings:
The German wars are some of the oldest wars in history. I cannot count how many times Germany has been invaded and about overrun. This is the second time since I joined this game that it happened, the last being December 2009, I believe. These wars are not the most important to Poland, Sweden is the only nation to gain from them. That is because Poland already has a safe grain region in the USA while Sweden only has the one in Germany. The only reason Poland would try in this war is to get to Rhone Alps, a valuable French region.

Spain:

What is happening:
Brazil is once again on a warpath. They are (yellow arrows) attacking four Spanish regions.
The most important attack is the Brazillian attack on Castilla y Leon. Right now the Spanish are winning that battle 2 to 0. If Brazil comes back to win they will be able to attack Asturias, arguably the most valuable region held by and EDEN power. The last statistics I saw show it as being the most valuable region in the world, a very industrialized high Iron region. If it is attacked it will be one of the largest battles seen yet.
The next most important attack is the attack on Madrid, Spain’s Capital. It is a high grain region and it is very likely it is very developed. Spain is winning 2-0 there as well.
After those two important battles come the two lesser battles: Extremadura (7-6 Spain) and Valencian Community (4-1 Spain). Both of those battles seem to be intended to stop a Spanish counterattack and simply to wipe out Spain if possible
Musings:
This theater is often overlooked for some reason. That is odd because it features both a Phoenix super power and an EDEN superpower, both of which are well endowed with resources. It seems that Spain will win these battles, however it is impossible to know if Spain will be able to push Brazil out, and even if they do t war will not end because the two nations share a border in their original regions. It is imperative for EDEN to stop Brazil, this front should be put in front of the German and British fronts.

Musings of a Professor
This section will be about regions that are not hotbeds of activity but still deserve passing mention.

Russia:
Right now Russia almost has all of its regions back, it is only missing the high grain region of Moscow which belongs to Poland, and the very valuable region, Eastern Serbia, which China controls. Despite this, if EDEN can get ahead of Phoenix in the PTO of Russia, all of it may very well be taken over again.

Iran:
I’ll admit that this is entirely speculation, so take it with a grain of salt. If Bulgaria switches fully to EDEN these things may very well happen. Right now Bulgaria controls some Iranian high grain regions. They are renting them out and both nations are helped by the rental, somewhat like the Polish-American deal. However this may bring conflict. Previously Bulgaria and Iran were both in Phoenix, but now Bulgaria has had a parting of ways with Phoenix. This may lead to Iran trying to take its regions back, Bulgaria invading Iran with backing from EDEN, or possibly even Iran siding with Bulgaria in order to keep its rental fees. Now it is also possible that Iran will be used by Phoenix to bring Bulgaria back into the fold, it is impossible to say.

Peru-Chile conflict-
Right now Chile, allied with France, is invading Peru which is allied with the odd group of Romania, Poland, and the UK. Chile seems to be winning, already conquering the most valuable Peruvian region, Great Andes. I know very little about this conflict.

Asia-
As probably everyone knows, the US was pushed out of Indonesia. This has left Indo controlling Western Australia, a very valuable high titanium region, and America stuck once again in India and China. Japan has also recently invaded a single region of South Korea. It is unknown if this is a friendly action or a hostile one.

Closing:

The extreme successes of EDEN a couple weeks ago have seemingly faded now. Russia is almost entirely free militarily, if not politically, while Spain is being invaded by Brazil. On the other hand EDEN is winning in the unimportant theater of Britain, while the Germany is split in two.
