Today, I announce the creation of the newest branch of the South African Armed Forces. Siroe has granted me the great honor of commanding this new branch. The Shock Troopers will be the previously mentioned 'deployable' branch. With this, comes a whole slew of new changes. I have made a forum dedicated to the South African military that will have orders updated at least once a day along with a great social area to communicate with your fellow servicemen and women. Together we will fight for South Africa and represent our renewed power as we build up our strength.
I am highly qualified for this job as my last position of command was in the US military. There, I was a four star general, a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and most importantly I was the Commanding Officer of the eUS Mobile Infantry 'Roughnecks' that had over 300 men and women. It is the largest operations capable branch of the US military. During my time, I instituted many reforms that enabled it to be more self sufficient as well as cutting the fat of inactive players and bringing in active troopers. I've served as a platoon commander and more importantly, as a staff officer doing Quartermaster General (QMG) work.
The organization of this branch will be different than what many South African veterans may be used to. It is however very similar to a cross between the United States Airborne and the United States Mobile Infantry. It will have two command structures. Support and Operations. Operations is all under the command of myself and Lt Colonel Issues, my executive officer (right hand man). Support will be a mix of our new military intelligence program, our recruitment and media team and our QMG's.
There will be three Divisions in this outfit. There is the 1st Division, Light Infantry. This will be home for the lower strength players. Requirements include having a strength of at least four (4). The 2nd Division, Mechanized Infantry, will be for the mid range players with a strength requirement of at least seven (7). The last division will be the elite division. They will see the most deployments, the most action and will receive the most funding. This is the 3rd Division, Airborne.
There will also be an all new platoon structure created. It will be smaller, and more modular. Each platoon on the Shock Trooper's will have 10 soldiers. More on why later. Each platoon will have a platoon commander, usually a Lieutenant, and his XO, usually a Sergeant. They will work together to keep the military trackers up to date and accurate as well as send orders directly to their men in certain situations.
The reason we will be having 10 man platoons is because the Shock Troopers are moving towards establishing total self sufficiency. Ten is the best number of employee's in a company because that produces the best production rating bonus. We will be running our own gun companies and each platoon will have a one week rotation making guns for enough money to get food. Our overall goal is to always have a good reserve of extra weapons built up for when we launch offensive operations. There will be two companies at first, but I hope to eventually have enough for each platoon so that we can achieve at least 70% self sufficiency so that we may better spend our limited funds and resources.
Each division will have two platoons. So spots are limited until funding allows for an expansion of the military. Here is a list of the current officers in the Shock Troopers.
Commandant: Sir Valaro Volcrum
Executive Officer: Issues
Head of Intelligence: Bloomfield
Recruitment Officer: Lorenzo Serafini
1st Division CO: Sakyo

There is a few positions open still. Here is a list.
Head QMG
QMG Shift 1
QMG Shift 2
QMG Shift 3
1st Division XO
3rd Division CO
3rd Division XO
All six platoon CO positions
All six platoon XO positions.
If you are interested in being a QMG or division CO, contact myself or Issues. If you are interested in being a Division XO, contact that Division's respective CO. Those with an interest to become platoon COs or XOs should contact one of the Division COs for more information on what the job entails.
If you have an interest in tanking and have a strength of at least 14 and a rank of Colonel or higher, send me a message. We're going to be setting up a tank platoon for when and if the need for tanks arises.
Also, we have a really awesome motto.
Motto: "War is Hell, and We're its Demons"
Signed,
Sir Valaro Volcrum
Commandant

AWESOME! Shock Troopers = Epic name.
-General Joseph Schmo
CO, IDF Special Forces
WooHoo! Shock Troopers FTW!
Sounds good SVV knows what he is doing.
loft
congrats on the position.
Love to see them in action. 😃
Sounds good, but you think you need 3 Divisions? I mean we are bit light in the area of troops
I will gladly serve as a Division XO. I recommend Kristof Von for the highest position open. He is an excellent military mind.
What military experience do you and kristof have, Ajay?
Kristof Von is now in Malaysia with citizenship there.
I'm talking to Kristof about it. Not sure why he does. Might be temporary.
I'm a former mercenary who bravely fought in the America wars and the German-Swedish conflict.
Ajay given your political connections (there is a good reason for his being elected after all) you will be unable to deploy, as such how can you command a deployable force. Anyway, congrats SVV, and Ms. Maelyn, we miss you guys over at the eUSMI.
Miss you too, K72!
I'll join, put me where ever.
Good point. I will take a domestic position then. Perhaps in military intelligence?
I see South Africans hold no officer positions in their own army, with the exception of Siroe...
Does this also mean the Paratroopers have been renamed? Right after I took time to create a logo and everything? That's just inconsiderate.
I have to somewhat agree with Esteban on this.
Whilst I like the new organisational structure and the idea of military run companies, why aren't South Africans included in commanding positions?
I'm not saying I'm qualified for the job; I don't have any experience in leading a unit nor the appropriate strength or time to do so, but I think there are quite a few South Africans who do hold these qualifications and should be given the opportunity.
HHhhhhm.
Same problem the eWorld over, huh?
Grand job re-organising into fitter, purposeful units.
Bad move not listening to the men who help build it up from the ground.
In my army, consensus and joint planning are encouraged strongly.
There's much intelligence to be gained from getting everyone onside and cross-training.
I wish you much luck with this.
But get it right before you go anywhere, won't you?
You've all the right things..just need to refine with broader input, it seems.
Respectfully.
Colonel Ni Mhaille.
Disappointed to see no South African XO's. What bothers me about this set-up is that what we essentially have here is a bunch of people that are pissed at PEACE. As a country we can't afford to have these sentiments and certainly not from our military.
@Ajay: I might have to accept you in the military for reasons beyond my control. I don't really have to give you a command position unless you prove to be actually useful. So thank you, but stop meddling in eSAAF business.
@Esteban & Zamrg: SVV was the best choice available, I received confirmation from the President and I went forward with it. Now, if you were to take a closer look at the man's announced staff you'll noticed that 3 divisions have been announced and only 2 of them have COs.Ever wonder why's that?
I respect your guys' opinion that there were other people good enough for the job. I didn't want good enough though, I wanted the best available. And that is SVV. I consider it to natural to let him chose his officers, seeing as how he will be working directly with them.
@Mark:There is a chain of command that needs to be followed, the Shock Troops might be organizationally independent but they still have to clear important decisions with me(and I have to clear them with the President), so the threat to PEACE is minimal.
PEACE GC won't attack eS.A just because we have a unit that fights against it in international battles. Last time we were attacked because we declared war on them🙂.
Siroe, I was never questioning the experience of the individuals nor referring to SVV specifically. I think he's the right man for the job to command the whole unit, I just question the group of staff that's been selected. I recognise most from the eUS military and the MI more specifically, but I could be wrong here.
As I said, SVV will have a tough task to handle. I think it would be natural for him to pick people who have worked with him before to get it done as well as humanly possible.
@ Esteban - the eSA Paratroopers were disbanded as soon as Siroe took command of the eSA military set-up. Apparently he told everyone. Well, almost. Looks like you and me got missed off that original list. Sorry I didn't pass it on once I found out, but I'd been moved on by over a week by the time I found out by accident.
It was made public in an articles. It was clear that all units were disbanded and the creation of the Pretoria Guard came first.
Yeah. The last division CO position is open to South Africans only. I saved that one because its the elite division. I'm only having trouble finding one as the guys I want to offer the job too are in Congress, IE- Gabriel Borien.
Yeah, I grabbed some staff that I know how to work with and have good experience and that I know are capable leaders. I've served with Maelyn, Sakyo and Issues for long enough to know their abilities. Also, keep in mind that in all officer positions open, South Africans have priority, but I won't play favorites. I want the most qualified people I can get to get this beast up and running.
It's strange that all of the highest military commanders have just moved to South Africa, other than you. You've made a good decision from a tactical point of view to place the people with the highest military experience in commanding positions, but from a soldier's point of view, it's pretty much wrong to give all those positions to US military personnel. It's almost like the British East India Company's army and that ended with the Sepoy mutiny.
And why did the name have to be changed so badly?
well, the Paratroopers is an Elite name. The 3rd Division is 'Airborne', meaning THEY are the Paratroopers. Also, I saved that position, CO of the 3rd Division, for a South African because it is very prestigious. It will see the most action, deployments and funding. I just need to find a guy to do it.
If you guys have ANY other comments or questions, please feel free to send me a PM so we can talk about it 🙂
"I'm a former mercenary who bravely fought in the America wars and the German-Swedish conflict."
If you ever did an mercenary work, somebody got screwed out of their money. 5681 damage in 346 fights. Have you ever used a weapon?
LOL so right Korin!
Christ SVV... Your entire leadership roster is ex-MI...*cough*
You wouldn't happen to be showing favoritism would you? 😉
Favoritism? And no, not the entire leadership. Two Division COs and my XO. The recruitment officer is not and the 3rd division CO will not.
MI troopers highly competent
Thanks Loft 🙂
SVV -- Zagarius is a highly competent long time active player -- you should check him out and put him in command of something if you like what you see. He was in command of the 4th training platoon 2nd div before I took command of it -- he moved to South Africa. He ran a perfect platoon, lol it was lucky for me!
Just a suggestion from an old friend.
loft
yeah, I was looking into him too, but he's in congress 🙁
Argh! Fix your forum! It seems to be missing a database! 😮
Oh, and congratulations SVV. I expect nothing less than the fine work of a well-oiled machine coming out of South Africa military with you at the helm. Just remember to start small. eSA is still a small country with little industry; the funding for a large military and the emergency funding for the hard times is still some distance away. You guys will be capable of reclaiming other regions again soon enough. 🙂
A don't worry. We have a body count limit of like 100 men. And it will take a bit to reach that anyways.
Well, I dint know if I can serve in 2 armies at the same time. The airborne did say I can live and work in eSA and they would deploy me as needed, but there was no mention of serving in the army as well.
SVV, Issues, Sakyo, and Maelyn...this isn't the eSA Shock Troopers! It's the eUS Mobile Infantry! If that's the case, as a former Company commander in the MI, I demand command of a platoon at the very least.
Thanks,
The Dude
DTM, you might get a platoon CO position, but only if you get here soon enough. Spots are closing fast with the influx of South Africans.
Aww I'm good for now dawg. Having too much fun being an eMarine.
Man you guys look like you're having so much fun.
Mobile Infantry says hi!
chicks love the shock troops. theyre a surprise. its like christmas.
and every Chick loves Xmas..
so many surprises in her stockings!
😉
Sir Valaro Volcrum? PM'd you Sir.Thx.
Lol at DTM and Jason: Thanks guys xD
@Grainne: Got it and yep, hehe
