An Election Was Had

I ran for CP for January of 2022. I would have written an article announcing my candidacy and plans, but I didn’t want to publish anything that would get in the way of eCanada Winter Games publications, or too soon afterwards. So here we are.

I’d like to thank all those who decided to vote for me. I’d like to thank the other candidates for running. It is important to have good, contested elections with a block of good and serious candidates.

What can you expect from me over the next month?

Largely a stick to the status quo. I have enough influence outside of the CP chair that if I wanted to change something, I’d be able to push for it. Our concessions with Estonia will continue as they have been. They earn us a steady stream of predictable income each month, which is useful for maintaining programs such as the payments for epic creation and the Hot Air Program.

Likewise, I have every intention of continuing our MPP with Estonia. It only makes sense for us and for them. Here are some reasons for having an MPP with Estonia:

1. Because of our concession deals, Estonia has a vested interest in being able to help us in case of invasion, as we are not only in the same alliance, but they have economic benefits from us being sovereign over our lands.
2. We are in the same alliance, Orion, as Estonia
3. It allows our citizens to be located in Europe and fight for Canada, which makes moving costs cheaper to get to other important battles or epic battles.
4. Estonia tends to have a day change epic every week on Tuesday. Maintaining this MPP allows Canadians to take advantage of their epic without having to pay any moving costs.
5. Because we’ve had the MPP for this long, Canadians have started building protector ranks for Estonia, which is gained at 4% of damage done as compared to 2%. And Estonian players are building protector ranks here in Canada. It is to the benefit of both countries that more friendly players build up protector ranks faster, as it increases defense.

Furthermore, I have no intentions of making any changes with regards to the Hot Air Program, or any kind of program that congress has created. On the flip side, I also have no intentions of changing or pushing for any changes with regards to taxation.

I’ll also be shaking up cabinet, letting loose some players who aren’t active in our cabinet discussions or have become dead citizens, and in exchange I’m hoping to add some of our more active citizens into cabinet. I will be creating the new cabinet message very soon after this article is published. Definitely before the weekend is over.

One final thing that I aim to do over this month is to ensure that there are a good assortment of battles open at any given period in time. I’m hopeful to have at the minimum of 3 battles open at all times for eCanadians, so there is always somewhere to fight whether you live in a really different timezone than everyone else, or if you recently had a kid and are up in the middle of the night, or if you have insomnia.
