About leaving CODE

[CP] Farewell CODE
CODE today...

I didn't really think I will write an article again, but Ireland's leaving of the alliance is still something that prompts me to do so.

The Irish side cites as the reasons for leaving the alliance the appointment of Furious Lady to SG of CODE, a former Macedonian leader who participated in deletion of eIreland but later changed side, (I have been informed this didn't play part in the decision. Since individual congressmen are voting, in fact hard to assume the exact reasons) and the lack of consultation with Ireland when giving Northern Ireland to Slovenia (also formerly a bot-nest of Asteria that changed side). This is not the first time the Codean elites prefer Slovenia over much older anti-Asterian comrades, and in general there is nothing new in all of this, the lack of communication, the approval of former Asterian people, and the disregard of smaller countries probably for practical reasons given their importance, characterized the Code alliance more or less from its creation.

So on one hand the Code alliance definitely does not have the charm of the former anti-Asteria side, not having been corrupted by power, based purely on comradery and perseverance in its eternal protest against the Asterian establishment, and the decline in this sense could be more than enough reason to leave, since what we fought against now characterize our alliance just as much as the Asteria.

On the other hand we knew very well what we were into when participating in the creation of the alliance, and the existence of constant, obvious, and expected problems is not a reason to leave, since leaving does not solve any one of them. From eIreland's perspective we just resign from the slightest right to have a say in these matters. If it had been unfair that the Codean elites ignored us, now it will be just completely fair. And from the higher alliance level prespective, the situation just painfully reminds me the time when there was no alliance for the very reson we weren't able to exist in an alliance since we weren't able to solve any of the emerging problems in an alliance. In this respect eIreland is setting up a completely wrong precedent.

By the way I do not agree with the process either, the law being proposed without a full congress and without a preceding debate (you have to know if you propose a law in Ireland, in 99% it will pass regardless what it is). With all this said, I have no resentment, eIreland is just eIreland, it makes eIreland sense, the reason why this ecountry is impenetrable and lovely in my eye and will remain so until the end of the game.
