[UK] MTO Attempt

Day 3,622, 15:47 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by 10 Downing Street

Hostile MTO

As I write this, we are under the very real threat of a hostile MTO, and not for the first time. Since the leader has not yet responded to my question regarding teh situation, I can only presume that this is The Real Thing, and not merely a drill.

If you care about the independence of the United Kingdom, please move to Birmingham, West Midlands and fight for democracy. If you are not a British citizen, please feel free to join a British MU to fight for democracy.

Schedule is as follows. We do not know the terrains.

What's Going On?

At this time, knowing nothing about the coup (cos hey, Friday night, some of us actually do stuff) until it had practically begun, I cannot comment on the reasoning behind it, save for a power grab and the chance to empty our meagre treasury, or some easy medals for the instigators.

I am aware that the unit involved was formerly owned by a British citizen who had left for Latvia (oh, the irony) around the time of the Belgian crisis. It then passed to the current commander. Since this unit was created by the formerly British citizen, my prior warnings regarding dead or empty MUs would likely not have helped in this situation.

I would like to thank all of the support received so far.

Anti-Plato Rant

Anyone who knows me would realise that yes, I don't mind a good laugh. I don't mind activity, and fighting for my country and it's allies. I do, however, mind hostile MTOs, regardless of where they take place. The dictatorship module, while it has since been nerfed, was - in my opinion - one of the worst decisions to plague this game in the time I've been here (along with Maverick Packs, but that's a different matter).

And Finally

Should this coup prove successful, I will undoubtedly be replaced by the new Dictator by some puppet so this is possibly my final address. I hope that my half-term has provided you all with some excitement, some controversy and a relief from the usual tedium of clicking a couple of buttons every day then logging off. It's been an interesting couple of weeks, seeing a wipe, an agreement with the USA and Ireland (and to a limited point, Colombia), Brexit and now this. Yes, I may have unintentionally offended some people along the way, but that was not my intent and I would like to thank those in the international community who have shown me their support.

During my term I had accomplished much of what I had originally planned, including debate on a non-governmental military supply scheme, possible expansion of the NHS should supply be found to cover more than just "new" players, and some of the most active periods of recent months. There were still things I would have like to have done, and may yet get the chance.

If it comes to the point where the legitimately elected government no longer holds power, please do nothing to aid the aggressors. Fight for our traditional allies instead, both old and new, such as Spain, Slovenia, Israel, Belgium, France, Cuba and Canada. Fight for Lithuania and Germany. Fight for Serbia, Macedonia and Bulgaria.

It has been a pleasure to serve.
