[SFP Election] My Vote Can't Be Bought

Day 3,617, 12:37 Published in USA USA by Dillon Richards

I logged in to eRepublik today to do my usual clicks. First work, then work at my own companies, followed by training, then fight in whatever battle my Military Unit has prioritized with the remaining health I have left, and lastly of course - vote for Party President.

Today, though - I noticed I had a message and an alert. So, I check the message first - it's from chickensguys, a candidate for Party President of the Socialist Freedom Party. It's a general message asking for my vote - nothing outrageous or unethical. It's quite pleasant, actually.

I then check my alert. It's a donation from chickensguys for 1000 USD, which I rejected. Nowhere in chickensguys message did he ask to pay for my vote - but I can't help but wonder if similar donations didn't influence the votes of others.

For this reason - I voted for Salty today. Salty has been a loyal member of the SFP for much longer than I've been around and has been intimately involved in past administrations. He's got the experience to lead us forward and the moral fortitude not to resort to bribery. Salty is the man for the job.
