[PROPOSAL] Upgrade Productivity

Upgrade Productivity

Hello everyone!

As you might have seen already, the admins asked for our feedback on their new idea; Resource Shuffle, which basically means reorganization of the resources of the New World. Most of the comments are against the proposal, and some players even proposed their own idea(s). An idea came to my mind last night and I thought it would be nice to share it.

My idea is simple: Every resource would provide with 5% bonus instead of the usual 20%. Multiple resources of the same type increase the bonus. In order to get to the maximum bonus one type of resource can provide, countries would have to either have multiple regions with the same resource, or propose a law to ‘Upgrade Productivity’ in one of the regions containing the resource. This action would of course have a cost of some currency or gold. If the law proposal is accepted, the resource of the chosen region would provide with 5% more bonus. Note that one type of resource can only provide with up to 20% bonus. Two more rules:

- When a region is being conquered the productivity of its resource is reseted back to 5%.
- When a region is being liberated the productivity of its resource is maintained.

Example: Argentina owns 3 regions containing Fish (total of 15% bonus). The country president has proposed to upgrade the productivity of one of the regions containing fish. The law has passed. Argentina now owns 2 Fish regions that provide with 5% bonus each (total of 10😵, and another Fish region that provided with 10% bonus, a total of 20% bonus. Every upgrade to the productivity of regions containing Fish would not affect the bonus (it is at maximum already).

One of Argentina’s Fish regions, the one providing with 10% bonus, has been liberated by Bolivia. Bolivia now has a Fish region providing it 10% bonus (2nd rule). Bolivia has also upgraded the productivity of the region and it now provides with 15% bonus. A week later Argentina re-conquered the region from Bolivia. This region now provides only 5% bonus (1st rule).

Personally I believe this could make the game more interesting. Why? Because it would be harder for countries to maintain full bonuses for long time, and even make countries think whether taking a region is beneficial for them or not. It can also help some small countries that succeeded to liberate their regions if the occupier left an upgraded region. Re-conquering a region would not be enough to have full bonuses again!

Feel free to share your opinion about this idea.
