[Pichu Gaz.] Beginner Advice, and My Writing Contest

Day 3,532, 22:15 Published in USA Serbia by chriscoded

Hello everyone, and welcome to a different issue of the Pichu Gazette. I kinda wanted to go into how I got started, so that other newbies can get as good a start as I did.

First off, I must thank my good pals over at the Socialist Freedom Party.
You guys have been an insane help for me throughout the game so far. From giving me weapons, to food, even to showing me how to get houses for free so I have better energy. In my opinion, they are the coolest party, and the advice they’ve given (shoutout especially to Jimmy Cincinnati and Komeko on this one) has been invaluable. However, everyone in the party has been a major help, even inspiring me to start the Pichu Gazette. All the people there are a blast to talk to. They have a good political system with congressional primaries, and even letting me in on a recent event that was very fun to be in. Actually two, a movie night, and a certain big war. I doubt I would have nearly as much fun in the game with any other party as I’ve had with the SFP.
Heck, the SFP has some programs to help new players. One of these is their daily rations. While this is a recent-er addition as far as I’m aware. This program can get you a few Q7 weapons and lots of food. Since Q7 weapons can be used up to 10 times per item, you can go nuts and immediately get a big boost in wars. Another cool program is the Training Ground Gold program, where you can get 1 gold per day to upgrade your training grounds, so you can catch up to the top players. One other big program is Hoss’ Houses, where you can buy a house from hoss1965 if you’re in the SFP and he’ll refund it if you don’t resell it. It helps getting better energy amount and recovery.
Plus, with 8 congress seats, the SFP is no small fry. Heck, it is one of the largest parties and thus plays a huge role in making sure that no one party just dominates congress. On top of that, they have a discord server where people in and out of the party can talk. So if you ever want to take a look at the amazing community and talk to the people in the voice chat even, you can do that by just clicking here!
The party even has groups for you to join! One of these is the writer’s guild. The writers guild helps build our newspaper presence, and the channel in the discord server offers tips to all people who ask in it. If you run for congress, you’ll also get added to a group which is useful for certain election-related things.
Overall, everyone was kind and allowed me to rise up very quickly. I must say that I am greatly thankful to everyone over at the SFP.

Next, I have to thank my amazing Military Unit. In particular, Hale Kane and rainy sunday.
My military unit, while being less helpful with one exception, did still help a lot. The people there who helped me the most were probably Hale Kane and rainy sunday, who both gave great advice and also helped me start getting weapons. They also helped me prioritize targets, instead of me drifting to fight against Serbia in as many wars as possible. They guided me to helping Poland, fighting the UAE and New Zealand and actually helping the eUS in wars. There are a lot of MU’s out there, but the USAF is one of the biggest and the best, so if you want to truly fight for the eUS, they may be a safe bet.

Just a tip, start a newspaper ASAP.
While it costs 2 gold, it was by far the best 2 gold I’ve ever spent Not only do I get to show off my writing skills, but I get to join writing committees, inform people of stuff, build an audience and getting to possibly get cash from endorsements and the occasional media competition. I feel like it’s really helped me gain some trust and attention from people, and it has only helped me out so far. Plus, arranging interviews and writing long articles has been surprisingly fun, although that might just be me, and not everyone.

Another bit of Advice, run for political office and rally support too.
Most new people may say, “Chris, this isn’t the best thing to do, especially since I’m a new player. They’ll never vote me in!” That is not true at all. From what I can tell, the SFP, the Feds, and likely more parties all let you rise through the ranks fast if you work for it. While you may not get your party’s country presidential candidate nomination, you could likely earn a congress seat (if your part does primaries) or the Party Presidency if you run a good campaign. Of course, some elections may be harder to win than others, it’s definitely never impossible to win a seat, even in your first election. The SFP does party primaries for congress, and I got enough votes to possibly get me a seat in congress. So if I can do it, there’s nothing holding any other new players from doing it either.

Get through missions that require no gold besides and the Newspaper Missions ASAP.
This is very important, since some missions truly let you progress further in the game. Like getting politically involved, letting you access more systems, giving you strength boosts and more can happen all through missions. They missions also are some of the best new player help out there, as they guide and reward new players for doing their thing.

Do Wars and Get Prestige!
Prestige awards are usually not only important, but valuable. You can get more storage, better energy recovery, bombs, moving tickets, damage boosters, and more energy recovery! It’s an extremely easy way to get lots of cool things for little to no cost. Also, if you want to get a lot quickly, throw up a good damage booster, get some good weapons and buy a house. You’ll lose a lot less energy from fighting, and you’ll have a lot more energy at a time to use, allowing you to do a lot in war and get quick and easy prestige.

Be Involved!
If you want to make it far in game, you have to be involved. You can’t just sit back and take the easy way, because there is no easy way. You have to socialize your way through the ranks here, to get supplies, gold, to buy and sell stuff, to get things done. There is no way around the socialization. So, you have to embrace it. Play around with the social aspects of the game and use them to your advantage. It’s truly the best way to get ahead. Also, make sure to do contests.
Sorry that I haven’t been working on a normal issue of the Pichu Gazette, I’ve been very tired and busy, so I’ve been less motivated to interview and research and write. This has been a little thing that will probably get me back into the writing flow.
FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Since there seems to be a lack of writing in the eUSA, I’m going to start a writing contest. All donations for rewards, ideas, and spreading of the word are appreciated!
