[Memories] Is experience the only thing to consider?

Day 1,794, 20:17 Published in Philippines Republic of China (Taiwan) by Analia Arnheim

This is an excerpt from one of the articles I wrote on Day 1620. This is published in memory of my former account. Thank you for reading.

Think of it, fellowmen and friends as well:

Our national hero, Jose P. Rizal, with all his great intellect, couldn't win a leadership race for La Solidaridad against the more popular Marcelo H. del Pilar. But later on, the Katipunan made Rizal honorary president without his consent.

Emilio Aguinaldo, who won many of the first battles of the Philippine Revolution, startled European military historians because Aguinaldo never had any military background. He was only a gobernadorcillo (town mayor) before the Revolution.

Manuel L. Quezon, who was just a lieutenant during the Philippine Revolution, even defeated Aguinaldo in a presidential race in 1935.

And even the Bar Exam top one, Ferdinand E. Marcos, was a buy-and-sell agent (mangangalakal or bakal-bote) before he became Ilocos Norte congressman by a landslide.

They were all inexperienced, but they worked hard, even in just a short amount of time, to gain the people's trust that even as a nobody, they can be a somebody. Don't judge a candidate for being young or old... think again, my friend.
