[GT] A real lesson for the Cipelici

Pre warning: I fully intend to ramble on 😉

With the attitude that a certain Cipelici is displaying at the moment I felt I should write something off on a little tangent but generally in response.

A little lesson if you like, But it applies to everyone.

All of human history has been one of a struggle between those who have believed in their own god given superiority and those who see humanity as an infinitely varied but equally important group.

Success has always been born of cooperation, be it small collaboration or interstate endeavours. All failure has been that of the divisive's success in searching for supremacy of exclusive groupings. Be they race, religion, culture et infintum.

Cipelici believe their nationalism and supremacist ideas bring unity and will lead to success (that and multis ofc), however it is that they define it, but it won't. It never has, it spreads hatred, distrust and it divides them.

Creating an artificial 'us' and 'them' by attempting to impose their ideas of supremacy results only in constructing a 'them'. Making a new enemy.

Even with an implausible victory of CP and capturing congress, Cipelici will gain nothing and instead cement yet another enemy for themselves. They will not direct damage for their cause... but always against.

Once there was an idea in much of the Slavic world of pan-slavism, an idea that all the Slavic people should abandon their notions of nationality and instead adopt one of shared culture. You could claim this was a step on the way to seeing humanity as a single group... but of course there is still a very strong notion of separation from the 'others', the non slavs.

This ideology had some partial successes, but non more so than the creation of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (known commonly as the Kingdom of Yugoslavia) early in the 20th century. Which would later be replaced by the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

A state where former national boundaries were wiped away and then nationalism returned. This ideology that touts itself as a unifier, seeker of separatist supremacy. And what did it bring?

Destruction for all ethnicities, War, Hatred and Intolerance.



This same lesson applies to all of us.

We have learnt through strange means that it is our diversity and intolerance to intolerance that has kept ourselves strong. It is in being a unified community of individuals that cherish above all the fact that we are individuals that our strength lies.

Of course I speak only for myself but to me the eUK represents a group of players who joined for their IRL nation but stay and fight for the small community we have (along of course with those of different nationalities who see our community and associate with it more than any notion of nationalism), And we do so to have fun, socialise and see how good both ingame and out of game we can make this community we call the eUK.

And not to achieve some cultural superiority, not to impose our will on others by way of cheating, not to incite hatred and extoll our supremacy.

Our unity of the many with a fierce love of individual independence that grows from voluntary interdependence will always out perform the destructive nature shown by Arn.Magnuson.

By all means enjoy your culture, whatever it is, but do not allow that to limited your appreciation of others and allow them to enjoy theirs.

What I am trying to say is that while it can be fun to give some (and I hate to say it...) banter back, we must not let a few define the many.

We must never become merely contrarions and retaliate with the same supremacist tones that they throw out.

Our goal should now and forever be to maintain our ability to make free choices of association, to protect our individualism and to shun those who seek to impose their will.

* Don't let some people acting superior turn you into as much of an fwit as they are.
* We are strong because we are accepting.
* Cipelici are backwards fools creating ever more enemies.
