[FED] Nothing to lose...
fingerguns
One of the things I’ve always loved most about the Federalist Party is that we are a self-described meritocracy. It’s probably the main thing that allowed us to grow as big as we have and what has kept us at the top- we never stop trying to earn what we have. As some people so frequently mention, we didn’t become the #1 party in the country all on our own. Shortly after we broke into the Top 5, it took a lot of support from outside of the party to keep us there while the country faced a PTO threat. Some of those people who joined us in an effort to ‘prop us up’ never left… because we worked as hard for them as we did for our existing Feds. We have grown into the Top Party and hold our position here because we see this position as a responsibility more than anything. We have to be better at this than everyone else. We never stop earning the loyalty of our members.
It would be so easy to become comfortable, entitled and lazy in our position. I think we’ve had moments of it, where we forgot that this party is supposed to be a meritocracy. You have to work for what you want, and you earn what you are given. These are our core values as Feds! We have been very fortunate recently to have an influx of new players and new activity from returning players who are all working hard to prove themselves. I want our representation to reflect this growing and changing population and I want to make sure I am upholding these core party values, as the Party President.
The Congressional sign-ups are open and I encourage ALL FEDS, new and old, to sign up. I’ve received a lot of messages from people saying they would like a chance to do Congress, either for the first time or the first time in a long time. I want you to get your chance! We will be assembling our roster based on general activity within the party and a few other meritocracy-type measurements. We saw a big increase in turnout last month and I think we can do even better this month, so go for it!
Congress really isn’t so serious and there isn’t as much pressure to be super attentive as there used to be. You have stuff to do for maybe week and then it dies off and people go back to their other business. Maybe you’ll get an awesome flare of up nonsense mid-term. But even though Congress is mostly stupid and does minimal actual work, the work they do matters and it is still important that we have good representatives for this party. There is as much potential to do good as there is to do evil. Naturally we want people to do good, and do it well.
Please sign up!
Also, as part of our expanding ‘it pays to be active’ party initiative, any Fed who wins a Congress seat this month will be rewarded with monies. If you make it through the whole term without royally screwing anything up or bringing shame to your party, you’ll receive another reward on your way out. You have literally nothing to lose by signing up, and everything to gain by being an active Fed!

So why not Congress?
Congress is kind of cool. Run for it and stuff.
Feds are very cool. Votado.
I've always loved the meritocracy. Always will.
SFP has 100% Attendance just saying GURRRRL
Looks like the SFP has closer to 110% lol
Way to multi, guys. Keeping it classy.
Its really strange, but if I was running multis wouldn't you expect my votes to swing, but no. I actually had come to an understanding with Cerb during that day and had no issues with him being president, regardless I believe in the democratic process.
active feds have fun
active fed congressmen have fun
run for the congress
How are you going to determine where on the list you place non-Fed people?
@PimpDollaz have to agree with you, good quesstion,
The one non-Fed will be at #10.
reason?
It's a nice round number.
Wow. Kwality response
Sorry Donovan, I tried. But this is the kind of shit you will have to put up with when you ask a legit question. Bettah get used to it
What's wrong with that response? We are only running one non-Fed. It kind of doesn't matter where we put them, given the mechanics. We do want them to be in IN Congress.
What number would you be more comfortable with?
You also don't know how voting works nowadays if you think it doesn't matter where people get placed, "given the mechanics"
Nice round number? Uhh, nice kindergarten answer? Like 20 is a nice round number too, how 'bout that? I was asking for a rationale as to why you run people who don't contribute to the party ahead of people who do. Like wtf have they done for us, and what are we getting out of it? How about you put feds first, and anyone else after that? Does that work for you?
Ah, I see what you mean. Well we typically run quite a few 6th party members. I think some of that is because we still remember being a 6th party and we are eternally grateful that bigger parties gave us a chance. I think we've gone a bit overboard with that and haven't been weighing out what we're giving up for what we're getting. So we're not doing that anymore.
Evry should be a Fed. She refuses to leave her little party, but she needs to be in Congress, so I am okay with facilitating that. I don't think it would be in keeping with who the Feds are and always have been to refuse to run ANY 6th partiers, but given the size of the current national population, I can't justify running more than 1. If I only get 1, I want Evry.
As far as where she ends up on the list, my answer was kind of flippant. Paul puts the list together and then we discuss it. We're still taking apps, so we're a few days away from this discussion. She will be high enough that we know she will get a seat. That comes at a cost of one of our people. I will happily NOT run and give her my spot.
I always thought evry was a dude for some reason. custer has also been running with us quite a bit and taking seats away from feds, just to bring you up to speed
Yeah I was party president last month. We ran 3 non-Feds. This month we will only run 1.
