[DoD] Newspapeir Scrudaithe, right?

I'm a criminal for being such a boring cunt. Seriously. I was thinking about how my teachers always used to tell me that I was the most interesting person they had ever met. I generally believed them, too. It just didn't seem like something you say to someone, even if they're a student. It's a bit off on the 'good work, see you tomorrow, keep up the study' scale of niceness. Actually, I have a book about eugenics that I never returned to the school library. I found it in a drawer a few minutes ago.

It's a big book. I never bothered finishing it.

Because it's a big book.

I'm not sure how many big books there are, but I'm sure that most of them aren't worth finishing. You can probably make a graph of payoff to time spent reading. I guess if you're a speed-reader then it's worth it, then? I have watched those really long chinese cartoons, though. One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, Naruto Teen Version, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Constipated, Dragon Ball Fan Version, and so on.

They aren't worth the investment, but the payoff is a different kind than reading a long book. Like, watching 50 episodes of something that's 22-25 minutes each episode adds
up to far more time spent than most any long book, assuming average adult reading speed, so when you watch a 700 episode series, it's the equivalent of like 280 hours, which is over two entire readings of the 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series. At that point, you've basically developed some kind of unhealthy obsessive bond with the characters.

Something about them being your only friends, which you repeated to yourself hundreds, maybe thousands of times when you locked yourself in the house for the summer, not showering, barely eating, just watching anime, sleeping, watching more of that same anime. It's like an immersion project. You make yourself a part of the fantasy. Engrossed in every part of the story.

I just wish it also improved my japanese speaking abilities, damn it.

Slán leat.
