[DAF] The Dutch Armed Forces Military Unit

Day 4,452, 09:44 Published in Netherlands Poland by Shawtyl0w

Dear soldiers of the Netherlands,

The Dutch Armed Forces, national military unied(MU) of the Netherlands. What does this even mean? In this article I will share the story of DAF and the current situation.

National Military Unit
The Dutch Armed Forces MU is the national MU of the eNetherlands. The government stimulates eNL citizens to join the military unit yet has no actual power over the MU. Let me ellaborate. The government has set a welcome message to all new citizens that start their game experience in the eNetherlands. This message advices new citizens to join the national MU. In the past we had many different active MUs. In the end there were two left. In-game events led to discussions on how to maximize event rewards. This caused for many players to join one of the two MUs for a short period of time. However at some point due to political conflict many players left one of the MUs to join the Dutch Armed Forces. From this point on it has been made clear that the national MU does not tolerate political influence.

Commanders & Captains
In the past the Dutch Armed Forces applied the SWORD strucute within the MU. Regiments were devided into divisions activity and citizen strength. After a few years A restructuring took place in the name of the DAF guidelines. A similar division to that of the SWORD was applied but this time more focused on activity. The Commanders and Captains were given roles and had to lead regiments accordingly. The current Command structure is as followed.

Commander of the Dutch Armed Forces: Shawtyl0w
2nd Commander of the Dutch Armed Forces: Weekstrom
2nd Commander of the Dutch Armed Forces: odan
Captain of regiment 1: Gwom
Captain of regiment 3: Zelig

These are the players responsible for the management of the MU.

Daily Order Management
One of the most important aspects of managing a MU is setting Daily Orders(DOs). This is done automatically through game mechanics based on a list of five countries set by the Commander. However the Command team can also set DOs manually. Since we have an active command team setting DOs is something we do on a daily basis.

How do we select DOs?
The DOs are selected based on the following logic.
1. Whenever there are campaigns for eNL to win these campaigns will be set as DOs.
2. Whenever there are no campaigns for eNL to win but there are campaigns for us to lose we will select all the campaigns of eNL for you to fight in. This allows us to distribute our damage not pushing walls in just one campaign the whole day making campaign management easier.
3. Whenever our allies with whom we have a signed Mutial Protection Pact(MPP) is involved in a real war these campaigns will also be set as DOs. We will fight for our allies at all times. If these wars are simply training wars they will not be set as DO.
4. If eNL has no active campaigns we will select several campaigns(if they have the lose) or a single campaign(if they have to win) from countries we have MPPs with as DO for our fighters not to push their walls the wrong way.

Ground Soldiers

The ground soldiers of the Dutch Armed Forces have slowly become stronger and stronger. Currently regiment 4 contains all top ground soldiers with the exception of several command team members as they also have to manage other regiments. Regiment 4 currently contains 18 fighters and is responsible for a huge % of country damage every week. Government programs like The Green Beret have helped many of our stronger players to thrive and earn some money by fighting. As a country and as national MU we try to stimulate all our strong ground fighters to become Legends of the eNetherlands and join the Weekstrom Battalions.

Fighter Pilots

Like the ground soldiers the fighter pilots of the eNetherlands are also becoming stronger every day. Most of these pilots can be found in regiment 3 and 4. The specialist are part of regiment 3 while the multidisciplinary fighters who fight both on the ground and in the air are a member of regiment 4. With the start of the government program The Flying Dutchman the eNetherlands has slowly but surely become a significant player in aerial battles. We are able to push walls for allies and determinte the outcome of campaigns thanks to the 22 points that can be won in aerial battles. We are proud that the pilots of the Dutch Armed Forces are able to slowly ranking up to become Chief Master Sergaents, Wing Commanders and even Group Captains.

As time progressed we've become the most decorated MU of the eNetherlands and we are proud of it!

Signed,

Shawtyl0w

Commander of the Dutch Armed Forces
