[CP] The Buck Stops with Me

Citizens of the Republic,

I write this article in a time of privation for eIreland. We are currently wiped, as you may have seen today while trying to vote for congress. Before I continue, I would like to say that the blame for this wipe, if there is any to distribute, should lie with me only with me. The buck stops with me!

The military situation is dire in both the short and long term. Luckily, we managed to have the UK take Mayo before the Romanians could, so there is at least one resource region of ours where our producers can continue to make goods. On the other hand, our amazing 100% food bonuses have disappeared and food producers in Cork are not able to produce.

We currently have 4 nations occupying various parts of our Isle, and this couldn't have come at any worse time! As you may have seen, Resource Wars are returning in 11 days, and in order to succeed in this event, you need to WIN campaigns, a position that we are far from being in. If we do not do well in the Resource Wars, as we have done before, we will suffer the consequences for years to come, and this prospect scares me.

I do not believe, anymore, that a diplomatic solution will help us at all with the Asterian powers. Consider only this: no longer than 2 weeks after we signed an agreement with Serbia, we were attacked by Romania unprovoked. Now, I am not saying that Serbia is to blame, not at all. After all, we did NOT sign a NAP. However, I had thought that this "truce" with Asteria would last longer than it did, in order to regrow our community. Instead, we suffered defeat at Asterian hands almost as quickly as we had signed an agreement with them.

It is clear to me now that the only thing left for eIreland to do is to resist Asteria alongside our allies. There can be no truce. As for that, I would like to thank you all, all eIrishmen and eIrishwomen who fought agains the eUS in our recent attack of Massachusetts. Although we had no chance to win, we attacked out of principle.

For now, I would like to remind everyone to follow the country feeds for military orders. Keep the faith, We will prevail!
