Proud/Horny Interview with Ubuntu21

Day 4,691, 17:17 Published in USA Chile by Wilker Nath

Lots of people throw big praise at our heavy d4 hitters, but often overlooked are our Infantry kit fighters! Ladies and gentlemen, one of our amazing d1 tanks who I've seen around in our recent AS battles, Ubuntu21! But first, some music:

Mr Ubuntu, you are a legend of the USA with tens of thousands of BH medals, a media mongol, and a multi-term congressman, 2nd commander of EZC, and a proud Fed. How do you feel?

Im pretty proud of what I achieved so far. I have met several amazing people over the course of the time. EZC is a very great and loving family and is the No1 reason I am still here. Some of us know each other for several years.
I always loved the military module and was fighting and collecting medals ever since. I am a 6-years officer at EZC, have been a FedPress and WHPR author and was one of the main operators while the reallocation of resources in the latest Resource Wars.

Tell us a little more about Infantry kit, and your fighting strategy. How’s all the math add up?

Well, success on the battlefield really depends on your ingame purchases and your overall activity, especially when you plan to stay in lower divisions. I have never really been a guy spending hundreds of $ monthly to be successful. The opposite is the case. Until a few months ago, I was buying the majority of my packs (IK, PP, MP, etc.) with ingame currency. While purchasing packs with ingame currency, you only barely do profit. And as most ground tanks want to rank up to Legend XX, making Gold is the most important part. Doing math is what you do pretty often. Either to forsee price changes on the market for like weapons, food, token or to calculate stuff about dmg, hits, ranking up, WC progress and whatever else. There is a lot you might need some numbers for.
Packs are very expensive if you buy them with Ingame currency. The current price is 400kCC/5€. So if Id still buy packs with CC, I needed to earn 3.2mil CC to only pay for packs. That is over 2k medals across d1 to d3. Each month. That requires a lot of activity. In most cases it didnt pay off, so I took breaks to increase my Str and earn some CC. Usually I fought for a few months and took a one year break.
As I had some major changes in RL, I am now finally able to fund all packs on my own, which is a huge release to my requireness to be active. I dont need to convert all my energy into Gold. I can also fight for our country a lot more, due to the fact that I dont need to sell any Gold for CC. I can buy more energy bars to fight with. Also the latest Hot Summer Event had been great for me. I was able to collect over 18k medals in that two months.

Your account was born in 2014. I’m sure you have some interesting erep stories. What’s something fun that happened to you over the years in this game?

There are really nice things that happened in all the years. I loved the region based Congressional election. Was always fun to see all the movement of ATO and PTO actions. When eRep changed the system, political module died in my opinion. Even tho it was stressful, it was somewhat nice, fun and good to have.
In my fighting career I came across a lot of different people. Hate, love, rivalry. I met people that threatened me, hunted me, blamed me and in most cases we ended up pretty good. In the end, most farmers want the same thing. No stress while farming.

To get a bit more serious, this game focuses a lot on politics, but not every politician is a heavy fighter. Is there anything that you wish was talked about more in government, from the perspective of someone who’s more active in the military module?

As for fighting I have indeed a few things to say, as I in my whole eCareer focused on the military module for the most part.
We, as USA, lack damage in both ground and in air. If that news to someone, that person didnt pay attention. That’s why we are, even with our awesome resource accomplishment, not one of the leading countries. Many politicians doesnt realize or dont care. But we wont win any wars by talking on forum or on discord. We need to massively grow in both ground and air.
Some programs to support people that stay long term with packs would help. PP massively boosts your health regen, BP creates bigger health stock to spent to win medals and earn Gold, MP makes you able to switch divisions and get Gold from low div medals (for high Str players only). But this a complicated topic. Who should we allow to boost up with massive amounts of our country treasure? The GIMP program is a really nice thing and in my opinion should be supported with even more money.
Scheduled weekly Tuesday epics in D4 would be amazing for the whole nation. Everyone would benefit from it. More health recovery, more CC from TP progress. But we need collective help from the US LXX tanks to do it.
Training Wars are nice to have. It boosts the assets of our big tanks. We should have more. It's very good, eUSA has so many native regions so we can allow many TW partners. A great help would be that people take care more often about battle priorities and orders. A small group of people is suffering using resources to correct mistakes from others.
As for the fighting strategy itself, pretty simple. I use the Maverick Pack to be able to switch to other divisions and collect Gold from BH hunting and CC from TP progress. Other than that, I try to fight in Tuesday epics to stack up to 20k PP for maximum health regeneration. I usually use Q1-Q3 houses to increase this recovery. Usually I fight in USA battles only, to always get some CC from TP medals every once in a while. With all the unwritten farming rules across the globe, its not really profitable to farm global all the time. Back some years ago it was different, when no one had LXX bonus, cause they had the same amount of effort as you had. This changed a lot. People usually fight in their citizenship country only, except for wars of course.
I am also an active part of the crew that manages Training Wars and keeps the walls straight.. so I am one of the persons that screams at people dropping their dmg on the correct side. 😛

Onto Fed party things, how long have you been a Fed? Why did you first join?

I have been a Fed ever since. Tho, while in 2-clicking mode I always joined EZCs Apolitical Party to avoid mass messages. I had a few visits at other parties in the beginning of my eCareer, but Fed party has been the most active and the most welcoming one. So I stayed.

How’s the party been treating you? Is it still a good fit for you?

Federalist Party has always been a nice place to stay at. I found many friends, had fun times doing the Fed newspaper back some years ago and I like being part of the Congress. Tho I am not the most active Congressman, I am reading a lot, have opinions about a lot of stuff. But due to much personal attacks (not on me, rather overall), hate and ego messing around, I prefer staying out of most topics. This is bad, because it sometimes leads to me being uninformed about specific topics that are being discussed within the "trash talk".

And finally, a question I love asking, what is your Proudest&Horniest Fed party memory?

Sorry to say that, but I don't really have one. 😦 I think, if I had one, it would be the fact that I run the FedPress newspaper with wookyjack. We have been a great team and I really liked that dude. It's sad, he isnt active anymore.

Btw, this is the link to wookyjack (erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/1724396), if you want to include the link.

Ubuntu, thank you for coming in and speaking! I look forward to seeing you more both on the battlefield and in my shout feed. Thank you for all the damage you drop for our nation!

Ladies and gentlemen, there we have it.
An interview with one of the battlefield champions of the eUS.

Stay tuned, more to come, but while you wait for that, here’s another bit of music.
