Today is the first day that we fight France and I wish we can win this war although I did not want it. I joined the fight and wounded. I did my duty as a Canadian citizen even thought I did not like to have this war. I hope I can vote "no" in the congress but I did not have enough gold to join in the politic.

Aujourd'hui est le premier jour que nous nous battons en France et je souhaite que nous pouvons gagner cette guerre, bien que je n'en voulais pas. J'ai rejoint la lutte et de blessés. J'ai fait mon devoir en tant que citoyen canadien, même pensé que je n'ai pas aimé avoir cette guerre. J'espère que je peux voter «non» au Congrès, mais je n'ai pas eu assez d'or pour se joindre à la politique.
