Now I want to talk about birdwatching, which is interesting and everyone's favorite subject.The nature of Georgia is varied, which is due to its location.The wildlife in Georgia is fairly diverse considering its size, but the small country moves from alpine mountains to the sub-tropical Black Sea coast giving numerous geological and meteorological variations. The lakes and rivers are full of trout while the Black Sea has many more species.There are more than 100 species of mammals, more than 330 birds, 48 reptiles, 11 amphibians, 160 fish and thousands of invertebrates.

As for BIRDWATCHING, there are two main local area to watch the birds. First is Kolkheti National Park and second is located in Adjara.


Kolkheti National Park
Kolkheti National Park is a national park located in the historical region of Colchis in western Georgia. It lies on a coastal plain on the Black Sea, between the mouths of the Tikori and Supsa and spanning the districts of Zugdidi, Khobi, Lanchkhuti, Senaki and Abasha. The park was established during 1998 and 1999 as part of Georgia’s Integrated Coastal Management Project, which was backed financially by the World Bank (W😎 and the Global Environmental Facility (GEF). Kolkheti National Park covers an area of 28,940 hectares, incorporating the land of the former 500-hectare Kolkheti State Nature Reserve, which had been established in 1947, and its surrounding wetlands, including the lake Paliastomi.


There are 194 species of birds living in the Kolkheti National Park and now I'm going to talk to you and introduce some of them.

Pelecanus


Sporadically spread in south-eastern Europe, in the former, middle and central Asia. They are large size birds. Their body length reaches 130-180 cm. Incubation is said to take 28 days and both parents share in this duty, though the female does the greater part.

The length of the body is 135-150 cm. It occurs in summer and seasonal overflow. It is fed with insects and small size birds.

For the first time, the strong maneuvers eat more than the second. and finally one of them dies.The main source of food is small mammals (rabbits, mice, squirrels) and also reptiles, some poisonous snakes and birds (rarely with lamb).


Adjara
Every year, millions of birds fly through Adjara to find a way out. This migration in the region changes many things.From the second half of August to mid-October, in the sky of Adjara, 10 million miles of immigration corridor, over a million birds fly to warm countries.Among the 35 species of birds there are many rare predators.

Hawk
