A Simple Question
George Barker
How can you have a presidential "debate" that doesn't include the second and third place finishers, but does include the fourth place finisher? How exactly does that work? Who selects the debate participants, and what criteria do they use?
Comments
I am not sure about Dom but I believe Arrden didn't join the race until the 2nd, when the article was published. I would have loved to see his responses to some of these questions.

Dominar made his intention to run clear a long time ago as I recall. And since he did perform pretty well in the election, it seems obvious that, whatever some people think of him, there are enough people out there who support him that his opinion deserves the broad audience that a debate -- a real one -- should have.
Dominar did not make his intention clear early at all, otherwise I absolutely would have included him in the Fed Primary and presumably he would have been on the debate
At least publicly. I have no idea what is known behind closed doors, I can only look at articles, shouts, discord and forum posts etc.
He made his official declaration to run a little more than a day after silverbeard did.
Why is the Fed primary the important event in determining the debate participants? It's not even the largest party. You could at least ask the other parties what they might be doing before sending out the questions -- and you knew Black Sheep was going to run someone because they almost always do. To reiterate, we just had the third election in a row where the "winner" only got a plurality of votes. You guys ought to be figuring out why that is, and listen real hard for the voices you aren't hearing. But you aren't making extra efforts at all.
All Pumpkinette you drew me in. So 3 months straight WTP runs a candidate that appears to have a ceiling of about a third of the yet your take away from this is the winning coalition is the one that doesn't get it and should try harder. That's some mental gymnastics.
You wanna win stop running someone who is just a non starter with 2/3 of the community. 2/3 > 1/3 that's what they call math. Math doesn't care about moonbeam conspiracy theories it's still gonna be math.
To put another way since you seem to like Orwell so much:
“Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two makes four. If that is granted, all else follows.”
As I've made very clear, this isn't about winning and losing, but transparency, openness, and fairness. It isn't even about Dominar -- that's you dodging the underlying issue. But to follow the Dominar red herring, whatever YOU think about him, there are plenty of people who voted for him, but you simply dismiss them and their views. How can you even pretend to be running a country when you, and your cronies, demonstrate arrant contempt for at least 45% of the population by refusing to allow their views to be aired? I had a recent discussion with harmabe or one of the other flunkies, where he first said my opinion didn't count because I wasn't in congress, and when I said I'd talked to congresspeople, he said they didn't matter because they were from the wrong party.
You don't see how f%$&ed up your collective attitude is? How arrogant and dismissive and entitled?
Three months ago we backed the Multi-in-Chief. We haven't seen any indication Tyler that you condemn his behavior in anyway. This is the most dangerous and manipulative person in our community, and I am sure if he was on the ballot instead of you you would have voted for him. That is someone who should be rejected by the community. FYI, you only got 44% support, so a lot fewer people wanted you as CP this time.
Tyler Bubblar; "All Pumpkinette". To be clear George Pumpkinette was my first account. While I agree with George Barker points, we are two completely different players!
His public announcement was on the fourth according to the erep game. DSS was publicly running by the 29th. So I don't know where you are getting your data from.
I only mention the Fed primary because I run it so I put effort into knowing who is on the ballot on the second to last day of the month when we open it.
Seriously you're talking about transparency but I had no idea Dom was officially running until well after the debate was published.
Which is fine! That's not a knock against Dom. It's fine to publish your articles at any time. But really, until public announcements are published, I have no idea who is actually doing anything!
My apologies Trite. I get you conspiracy theorists who will complain about anything and everything confused.
Dom you're one to talk about multis Mr Nixon. Yeah I would have voted for Krapis because he did a great job. Even if he is Gnilraps which I'm not saying he is. Who has he harmed by starting over? Dangerous to the community yet he's not fresh off the blacklist. That's interesting.
I never made it on a blacklist despite doing everything I was suppose to, to get on one, which goes to say such list are made for those fighting the meta-game not those serving the meta-game.
You say complain, while I (and others) offer an approach away from stagnancy.
Hey Tyler, who are you to tell other parties whom to run? Go f#£& yourself, Tyler!
Two months rather. And my support is still significantly higher now than my race against you last time.
Dom threw his hat in too late. He has ran multiple times and everyone knows his platform. I will continue to support him because I think he would do a good job. It's not exactly a surprise or conspiracy that he lost though.
It's not the winning or losing that is important -- it's the lack of public discussion and transparency. I knew he was running four days ago, and knew he was probably going to do it longer than that -- and I barely interact with him.

If I am not wrong DSS was asked first (and last) after which the meta-game junta set the stage. I was the first to declare ...
I'm shocked from these elections. I never espected our poor Silverbeard got so few votes.
Maybe running as a clone isn't the best idea -- if your goal is actually to win.
towards the end, I saw him asking people to vote TB
As someone not involved in the behind-the-scenes, I only knew Dom was running a serious campaign when he published his article, which was just yesterday. I can't imagine he was left out of the Fed primary (the only one I can speak to since I'm a member) and the debate for any reason other than he didn't announce before those ran.
I would also say that just because a candidate is one of the five on the ballot, it doesn't mean they are automatically included in every pre-election mechanism unless they appear to be running a real campaign. I didn't see anything from Arrden as to his aspirations (I really only look at articles and don't think I saw anything there, although I could be wrong), and I just think Dom was a victim to timing.
I dunno, I assume it will be worked out next time around.
Arrden was just a blocker (if blockers still exist).
I was not a blocker
The BSP had a primary, blocking was never a consideration.
A blocker against Gaia Data i think.
That does make more sense, impressive showing for a blocker then haha

Only speaking on the Fed primary: we include everyone we know are running. That requires a public announcement! (If you post on our forum we absolutely won't miss it but I do try to look in game to find announcements). That is the only reason Dom and Arrden were not on it.
Ahahah ok then!
a simple answer: I was unaware of Dom and Arrden's runs at the time the debate idea was concocted. TB&DSS were already answering questions by the time I found out. Had either of them put out a campaign article or otherwise made me aware of their run, I would've gladly invited them.
I am interested in continuing the debates for future CP elections. All candidates I know of will be invited, excluding only those who appear on the congressional blacklist (given it's a WHPR product, blacklisted people may not be featured there)

I also would've enjoyed seeing Dom and Arrden's responses to all these questions. Sorry I didn't get the chance to have them on. I will look harder for candidates next time.
The answer is you operate a bot network where everyone who has been established as pro-establishment gives their account info to a fat guy who smells like sweaty ball sack and who IRL is a transphobe fascist (regardless if they play still or not) and then everyone who runs except like two people, are apart of it. they all keep backroom coms and gaslight you if you leak info on it and don't care that they are cheating. then the admins don't do anything cause profit and revenue.
anyway that's why.
also krapis is in fact gnil and I can prove that through my discord com with Mel
also all of you who play this game are like some of the most toxic people i've ever seen play an online game except like literally 10-15 of you.
Instead of whining all the time, you could have organized a debate between all of the candidates yourself, georgie boy.
Did you?
I'm sure bubblar has the balls to attend such a debate. That being said, be careful what you ask for.
live stream it and I would watch that.
“be careful what you ask for”
I’m calling your bluff. Organize the next CP debate and let’s see how well you do
