Why You Should Not Vote For Me

Well hello my dear fellow eJapanese,

As you might have noticed, I am running for CP for the upcoming July elections. I wanted to spell out a few things before the election so you can make an informed decision.

First of all,

I am running for CP because an election with just 1 candidate is not fun at all.

However,

I recently started a new position at the company I have been working at and it is extremely busy during work hours. I can login from my phone and check messages and click buttons but that is it between 7am till about 3-4pm erepublik time. I live on pacific coast, so for whatever reason plato picked PST for erep time, I am on the same time zone.

I will be visiting my home country between July 8th and 17th. I will have access to internet everyday but activity level might be lower than usual. You really must hate the other candidate running in order to vote for me huh 🙂 I will use this opportunity to tease Fyreous, you can count on it.

The reason for why I am writing this article is not quite for the election itself though... More like, I wanted to put out a statement about where I stand with the recent SA incident that has occurred.

If any nation (or any person, as dictatorship is a common enough option in the game) makes threats that are unprovoked and unreasonable, as we experienced recently, we would very likely end up going to war because I would not care too much about their unreasonable demands just because their fragile bully feelings are hurt. If anything, I would put our own demand list for them to consider, just to annoy them more. So you might as well keep that impeach button close by if you disagree with this statement. If in your book, the recent incident we went through, had enough reasons for us to face threats, then we will just agree to disagree and as the title says.... why you should not be voting for me 🙂

I would rather get wiped than bend a knee to some ego hiding behind a virtual power. Especially not to those who are certified bullies...there are plenty of those in this game and most of them are actually openly proud of it because the game allows that 🙂

Free speech, unless it involves insults or threats that might cross someone else's rights, is a right for anyone to exercise. In this day and age it is very easy to look for something to get offended unfortunately, and certain lines are getting blurrier and blurrier.

I will not keep complaining about how boring the game itself is and then panic at the first sign of "trouble". IF we face a threat, we can ask for help to make it at least a little bit entertaining. If we get some help, great and if we do not, oh well. There are plenty of other fake wars to keep the medal hunting continue.

I understand getting wiped might hurt some new players and cause them to quit. Don't you think we would be doing them a favor though? 🙂 And how many new players did we get during last year? I can count like.... 3? 4? That are actually active(ish)?

The game has always been about building relationships for me and my fellow Janissaries. When the game got too stupid, most of us quit and the ones who wanted to keep the relationships alive, kept the communication on a different platform(You might have noticed some of them coming back alive recently). I can only suggest you do the same and we recently launched a telegram channel (for those who prefer telegram over discord) for all eJapanese to consider joining. We only got 10 players in it currently.

I do not have a cabinet set and positions might be filled on a first come first serve basis. This does not mean I would just hand the keys to the financial assets anyone who shows up. It just means no one will volunteer unless you ask people, nicely (or twist their arms, up to you really), to be bothered with some duties. It has been harder and harder to find those lately, including CP candidates (I miss Hugo).
