It's such a sad thing that I don't have as much enthusiasm I had for reading books as a child than I have now. It's amazing just looking at the covers of books, Ulysses for example, a book about a simple man's mind and one that I wanted to read for the past months, sounds so inviting yet I lose all the interest for any book I read after the first ten pages. It's a curse really that reading books bore me...
It is suffering. Sorry to hear that.
It's the same with me and Moby Dick. What's really frustrating is the fact that you are aware that as a child you would have read any book within a few days; now you have to convince yourself to start reading like it's some huge work and not something relaxing. I have actually bought Moby Dick the last day of 2018, and I promised myself I would read it in 2019. It is still sitting on the shelf....
Maybe we should just force ourselves, instead of browsing the net we might start a book for once and force our way through. Unless that 2019 will be 2020, and then 2021 then to the eternity and beyond. Time flies fast when you get older and busier.
Yes! But it is so hard to do so when you have 0 self discipline haha I've always wondered what things I could have achieved if I wasn't a lazy, procrastinating potato.
Why reading a book that bores you? Wouldn't it make more sense to find a book that you enjoy? There must be something you are interested in. Maybe reading 10-20 minutes a day before going to sleep (I don't read more than that).
