Tea with Titans, Akane Homura

Day 5,303, 15:15 Published in Japan Japan by Violence Seth

Well hello there, Sethesin here. Most people just call me Seth now. My Magnificence aside, I wish to welcome you to another Tea with Titans, an occasional, rare, newly revived 生まれ変わった feature here on the Skald, where I endeavour to interview the movers, the shakers, the warlords and money makers right here on eRepublik!

In this auspicious 13th issue of Tea with Titans I will be interviewing a Soldier of Teishin Shudan, Party President of Jinmin Sensen, Press Director of Shining Nippon (Subscribe if you haven't already) and eJapans worthy Country President.

With a first CP term in the books, 7 Congress Terms and a deserved reputation as one of eJapan's Discords finest, it's the original Japanese MoE&C, the Majo from Kanto.

It's none other than the one, the only, sure you already know, it's the illustrious

Akane Homura

So without further ado, let's get on with the interview!

Q1. Why do you play eRepublik?

I came back more or less last year because a group of friends stated that they started it and found it interesting. That is how I remembered the game and started it again after I stopped playing when everyone I considered friends back then also stopped over time. So far, I would say part of it is fun, but the other part is just the habit of logging in to all the games I play daily.

Q2. eRepublik is an old game filled with hidden lore. Is there anything interesting you'd like to show to the class for show and tell?

My newspaper is, for example, often showing up as being from Taiwan! That is because eJapan was back then invaded by Taiwan when I first started to play before my many-year-long break. It is easy to forget about anything else but peace, but many countries have fought many brutal wars. You can also find a lot of hidden gems by looking at older newspapers and articles!

Q3. So, what have you learned from your first term as president?

Hmm, that is an interesting question! First of all, I would like to take the nerves away from people who might be interested in running but not sure about it by stating that it is not as overwhelming and difficult as one may think before taking on the role. I was at least in that position where I was nervous about not being able to fulfil my role. Taking on the role of the president is manageable.

During my first term as a president, I learned that having an active cabinet is essential. I also learned how to start training wars and how to establish communication with partners as well. I had never served as anything else but the minister of education before, so this was new to me.

Oh! I also learned about all the different organizations we have. Beforehand, I only knew about like two or three of them.

Q4. Triple barrelled question; of all the active eRep players here in eNippon, who have you found most intriguing, helpful, and difficult this term?

(Editors Note: Once asked then told, lo and behold) I will not answer that question because multiple people have been helpful and intriguing. I also do not want to single anyone out by stating who has been the most difficult. I don't keep that in mind for long anyway, as I move on rather quickly and don't judge a person for one lousy interaction.

Q5. We've had a recent spike in new players. Straight of the bat, what advice have you to share?

If you've got any questions or need any help, ask the older players! Most of us are happy to help with advice, answer questions, and even provide support if necessary.

Seeing new faces is always good, and it also makes us happy.

Q6. What drew you to eJapan?

I have always been on eJapan. The cultural aspect of it (anime, movies, ...) always drew me to Japan, which I have also visited in real life once I had the chance. So I thought, why not just join the country in-game too?

Q7. Why is eJapan worth fighting for?

Good question! I believe that eJapan is worth fighting for because we got many people here. The large majority of people here, regardless of their party or the language they speak, are excellent. Even if there are sometimes discussions and clashes between parties because of different opinions, everyone wants the best for our country.

We also regularly get newbies here who become the next generation of eJapan and will grow up.

We also got hot waifus and husbandos! and a pretty active community, especially when it comes to social media and newspapers.

Q8. Discord, Telegram, Whatsapp etc. Which do you prefer and why?

I always prefer Discord because I can easily send gifs there and have built a massive collection over the years. I also almost only use Discord on my PC as I generally hate using my phone for writing.

Q9. The Skalds readers love Japanese culture. Have you any suggestions, common or rare, that you, yourself, would like to share?

I can thoroughly recommend you to visit Nara here in Japan. Most people have never heard of the city, but it is a hidden gem. It is surrounded by nature while keeping its medieval style, and there are also deer running along with the parks and streets and interacting with humans daily.

I also suggest reading more about our Yokai and general folklore! Many of them are very interesting. Have you, for example, already heard that we get earthquakes whenever the cat god that lives under the ground is angry?

Q10. What would you like to convey to eJapan and her allies?

I want to get across that everyone is welcome here in eJapan, and we are always happy to see new friendly faces. I also want to get across that everyone has been easy to work with and that this also includes other parties.

Finally, I want to make people aware that the president is not worth much without his cabinet, so I want to spotlight my government members as they do a lot of work.

The same goes for the active citizens of eJapan, who all contribute to a vibrant and lively community.

The cabinet and these community members are the MVPs, not me.

Q11. What are you listening to at the moment?

I am always listening to a crazy variety of songs and genres, although most are probably metal! Songs that I have lately been listening to a lot would likely be

1) Therion-Litany of the Fallen
2) Battle Beast-No more Hollywood endings
3) Gaeldr-Gimlé
4) Windrose-Gates of Ekrund
5) Nachtblut - Die Toten vergessen nicht

Q12. Would you like anything at the bar?

A fruity cocktail would be good, Seth! Thank you.

This the final episode of Tea w/ Titans. I would like to extend my warmest gratitude to our spritely CP Akane Homura. Fearing I may lose this rare interview I shall stop here.

I only ask that you subscribe. I want that stupid gold pen!

Ya boi,

Seth
