Financial Mechanics

I'm sure I'm not alone in this, but I'm looking at this 4k pay for working, then trying to run my companies competitively yet still losing. Its been so long since I played that for the first month back I made sure my health was up before working because as some of you may recall, health used to impact productivity and old habits die hard.
I figured housing, aircraft weapon raw materials and factories to finish goods was the way to go but I seem to be mistaken. I've come to find I can't even work at my aircraft and house raw companies.
I've been searching abroad in hopes of finding some sweatshop country I can export from for a profit because, America. How are we making this magic happen, what am I missing?

dismantled all my companies when I returned
You don't need wellness anymore to improve production. Aircraft and Houses need workers to produce as you can't work them yourselves. As far as which are profitable - depends on quality and region so best bet is to seek some advice in US and check you what support is available from Gov't schemes.
Wellness. A sweet memory from long time ago.
It's extremely difficult to make a profit by running a company employing people in the game these days. It might be possible in housing or Q5 Air weapons, but with the Tycoon pack it is more difficult for the regular players to do so. You can WaM (work as manager) in Q7 weapons companies, and in food companies. I haven't run the numbers on Housing RMs or Aircraft RMs in a while, but most people produce some in the daily challenge dragging prices down. You might want to produce Weapons RMs for your own Q7 weapons production, DO NOT produce Food RMs for any reason.
For food and weapons companies, I would suggest DC in the USA. There are tradeoffs between national bonuses, regional bonuses, and pollution. Make sure it is in a safe state though, i.e. not a region involved in Training Wars. For housing and Air Weapons, don't produce in the USA. We don't have the national bonuses for those.
All that said, you might want to take a look at the actual return you can expect on your investment. Most of the time, your better off doing some international arbitrage to make money.
The economy is basically global rather than national now. There is one unified currency and the job markets are pretty tied together. No sweat shops I'm afraid.
1. Research and do the math first
2. Then invest
3. ????
4. PROFIT!!!
The real currency beyond gold farming hero medals would be the energy bars from the weekly challenge, making the most valuable item the extra pp booster that can be gained via the monthly rigged wheel of fortunes lost.
This game is rigged.
In this game "The rich get richer and the poor stay poor"
