Erepublik and Real Life Irony

“Tibet was secured by USA in the war versus Resistance force of China”
-eRepublik Newsfeed.

It has often been my view, ever since the American invasion of Great Britain all those months back, that eRepublik actively promulgates the political irony of real life. Take my opening quote on Tibet, the first thing that shot to mind was American President Obama pushing a massive red button and putting a smile on a lot of Tibetan monk’s faces. For all we know, the Dalai Lama may start playing on this wonderful news that China oppression has now been eEradicated.

This doesn’t exclude the features of the game beyond the endless bugs or the text we log onto; but the actions each of us develop and attribute as our eCareer marches on. Different alliances we know in real life; the former Warsaw Pact, NATO, the Commonwealth – all are transformed into the different ideologies we have on this game. For example Britain should, on real life terms only, be allied with the Americans and Canadians, as well as most of EDEN. Here, we’re fighting off a Canuck invasion, prompting a very angry letter from myself to the Canadian Prime Minister:-

’Sir-

In as much as I recognise your invasion into my homeland of Scotland, I was deeply distressed the other day when some of your ‘crimson order’ were besieging my ancestral castle. After I’d finished pushing one of their ladders off our newly insulated roof, I heard one of them shout:

“Kill that Redcoat scum”

I was alarmed at the lexical nightmare this produced as they were wearing coats of Crimson, of which I’m sure your government notes is a shade of red itself. Unless your Crimson Order is secretly a suicide squad from Monty Python, you have my strongest complaints necessary against the appalling level of common sense among your soldiers.

Yours Faithfully, Sir Humphrey Appleby.’

Final Joke
My mate said, "Apparently, you have the biggest **** in town."
I replied, "Don't believe everything your wife tells you."

Yours, as always,
