Bellum omnium contra omnes

Day 2,018, 13:51 Published in Romania Croatia by Ion Vlahu

We used to talk a while back in this newspaper about the condition of eromanian society and i proposed then the borrowed (from real life) concept of social entropy to describe it. A world war has just started and the fundamental rift in our society morphed in a huge fail for all to see. I will not insist on the evident repercussions of this event, because it has been thoroughly covered by the domestic and international press in all its aspects. Another episode of the smoldering conflict plaguing our society has just unfolded and it will probably add more fuel to the fire.

Unfortunately, there is no debate that can be won, no argument that can be given and no hearts or minds that can be won. We are lost, tired and – as plainly showed – lonely. We will continue to be this way until reason prevails and our moral compass is restored. It will not. Romania stands today, in front of the world, suffering from a bipolar disorder. We will not recover. Bellum omnium contra omnes rages on.

I wrote this article because i feel the frustration of being dragged on a path of dishonor that leaves ashes in my mouth. It enrages me and makes me confident there is no compromise to be made and no common ground to be attained. I know i will probably be judged harshly by a number of my compatriots. But my character will have to live with it. The guy behind the curtain will stick with his beliefs.

And my beliefs are fundamentally entwined with the destiny of croats, greeks, americans and all my brothers in EDEN. I wrote this article for you guys to know that the light of friendship and honour still beacons in Romania.
