[Mustergueltig] What now, my love? [GER / ENG]

First things first: Over the last week, I have asked myself what my task as a "journalist" may now be as I have moved from the country where I have been involved in politics (or at least made some sneaky comments on it) to this beautiful island of yours (or should I say ours?). Given the political conflict arising concerning the future of the United Kingdom when it comes to alliances etc, I think I can now come up with an answer: As a former citizen of eGermany I find it neccessary to prevent the relations between said country and the UK from becoming even worse than they now are. This is why from now on, I see myself as an activist for the preservation of not only the Strasbourg Treaty, but also sanity when it comes to choosing your friends and foes. I will now publish articles in both English and German in order to make sure everyone can get the idea behind them, so have fun.

Leserinnen und Leser,
gebeutelte Ex-Mitbürgerinnen und -Mitbürger,

ist es überhaupt noch erwähnenswert, dass eDeutschland momentan nicht auf der Karte zu sehen ist? Es sieht nicht wirklich danach aus - wer versucht, sich über Ingame-artikel auf dem Laufenden zu halten, der weiß, wovon ich spreche. Ein eLand, in dem man irgendwann mal gerne seine Zeit vergeudet hat, verkommt mehr und mehr zu einer überdimensionalen Geisterstadt voll von seltsamen Gestalten, in der es nur noch eine Freizeitbeschäftigung zu geben scheint: sich gegenseitig auf die Zwölf zu hauen. Aber muss das so bleiben?

Ich glaube nicht. eDeutschland hatte mal so etwas wie eine politische Landschaft, ideologische Grabenkämpfe - das war alles vor der Zeit, in der die Mehrheit sich damit abgefunden hat, dass man nunmal früher oder später wieder gewiped wird. Es hat angefangen damit, dass man aufgehört hat zu kämpfen - Heute ist man dabei angelangt, auch den Rest mehr und mehr zu vernachlässigen. Man startet ein paar RWs, gewinnt durch Zufall einen davon, wartet ein paar Tage ab ohne den Finger zu rühren, und wird dann wieder in den Staub getreten. Es gibt keine Initiativen mehr, keinen Wahlkampf, keine waghalsigen Aktionen (und damit meine ich jetzt nicht die Operation Trüffel); keinen, der den Mund aufmacht, der diesem lethargischen Haufen einredet: Es geht auch anders! Wen interessiert schon, ob das gelogen ist? Der Versuch wäre spannender als alles, was in den letzten Monaten in eDeutschland passiert ist.



Der einzige Weg heraus aus dieser Situation ist momentan einer, den auch ich bis vor einer Weile alles andere als befürwortet hätte: Eine diplomatische Lösung, bei der wir eine dauerhafte Existenz herausschlagen können - alles andere killt den so oft herbei gesehnten Babyboom schon von vorneherein. Mit dem Vereinigten Königreich (noch) auf unserer Seite haben wir einen Ansprechpartner direkt vor der Haustüre, der uns eine derartige Lösung unter Umständen ermöglichen kann und dazu (Aussagen des momentanen Präsidenten folgend) auch bereit wäre. Die Frage ist also: Warum versucht niemand ernsthaft, diesen Weg zu gehen? Niemand freut sich darüber, endlich Geschäfte mit dem Feind machen zu können - aber wer glaubt, dass sich an der momentanen Situation in irgendeiner Form etwas ändert, wenn sich an der eDeutschen Position nichts ändert, der kann sich inzwischen gerne täglich vom Gegenteil überzeugen lassen. Niemand hat noch die Nerven, sich im Wochentakt zum 2.234.445. Mal auf dem Schlachtfeld vorführen zu lassen. Es wird also Zeit, den Tatsachen ins Auge zu sehen und zu verhandeln (nicht mit Polen, obv), bevor es zu spät ist.

Gleichzeitig gilt es für einen großen Teil der britischen Bevölkerung, einzusehen, dass eDeutschland sich seine Lage nicht ausgesucht hat und eine diplomatische Lösung gerade angesichts des von Polen gebrochenen NAPs in der öffentlichen Wahrnehmung einen bitteren Beigeschmack hat. Hier bedarf es einer Geste der eDeutschen Regierung (egal welcher), die deutlich macht: eDeutschland ist nicht länger auf militärische Verbündete angewiesen. Es hat keine finanziellen Hilfen nötig und in naher Zukunft keinen Babyboom vor sich, das seine Lage verbessern könnte. Worauf eDeutschland in diesen schweren Stunden angewiesen ist, sind seine Freunde. Für das Vereinigte Königreich ist es an der Zeit deutlich zu machen, ob es sich noch als solcher sieht oder nicht - Niemand weiß, was ONE vor hat, wenn es seine Checkliste abgearbeitet hat.

Dear readers,

is it even worth mentioning that eGermany is currently wiped off the map again? It doesn't seem so and whoever tried to keep up-to-date by taking a look at the most rated articles in the eGerman media probably understands what I mean. A country once worth wasting lots of time is more and more becoming a ghost town full of pretty creepy people whose only hobby seems to be beating the crap out of each other. But does it really have to stay that way?

I don't think so. eGermany once had something you could call a political landscape and ideological warfare - This was before the time a majority started to just "get along" with the fact that they were being wiped off the map sooner or later anyway. First, people started fighting hard enough, but nowadays it seems as if they stopped doing anything else as well. It's all about starting some RW's, winning one of them by chance, wasting a few days doing absolutely nothing and being wiped again. There are no initatives anymore, no political campaigns, no reckless adventures - Nobody opening their mouth, saying: It doesn't have to be this way! Who cares if they'd be lying? Trying would certainly be more exciting than pretty much everything that happened in eGermany over the last months.



The only way out of this situation is the one that I personally did not favor until recently: A diplomatic solution guaranteeing eGermany's permanent existence, because everything other than that would basically kill a possible babyboom right away. With the United Kingdom (yet) on its side eGermany would have someone to talk to who has the connections to a decent amount of countries we are currently at war with and seems to be willing to help us find such a solution. So the question that remains is: Why isn't anybody trying to go down this road? Nobody's gonna be happy to finally make a deal with the enemy but don't tell me there's anyone left who honestly still believe things are going to change as long as the eGerman view on them don't change. It is time to face the truth and come to terms (obviously not with ePoland) before it's too late.

At the same time, it is important that many Britains realize that eGermany has not put itself in this position and that negotiations are quite difficult if you've still got the NAP ePoland broke in mind. eGermany is in need of a government that makes it clear: eGermany no longer depends on military or even financial help. What eGermany needs in this darkest hour is a true friend and for the United Kingdom it is time to decide wether it sees itself as one or not - Nobody knows what's next when ONE is done going through its checklist.
