[GOV] The Financial Situation of the Dutch Government

Day 1,002, 04:27 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by Ministerie van Economische Zak

Dear fellow citizens

Introduction
The economy worldwide is feeling the heavy effects of the introduction of V2 and the many bugs and bad ideas it contained. As a result salaries crashed and sales stopped. Now that the admins have finally seen their many mistakes and are fixing them, we see a small but steady recovery. Salaries are slowly increasing and sales are picking up worldwide and soon the NL will follow.

The Netherlands is in an excellent position to benefit greatly from the new food consumption rules as we have many bread and grain companies within our border. It would be good to increase the amount of people and companies active in these markets to keep prices sharp and competitive.

The financial position of the government is still in great shape due to our large stock of gold which has become incredibly important and more rare in V2. We have responded to the economic crisis by cutting cost which include the reduction of signing MPPs and the cost of the State Companies. It seems like we have a balanced budget with as much coming in as is going out but the V2 economy is unpredictable. Personally I believe we need more coming in then is going out so that we can pay for MPP’s and or a war if needed but this is up to congress.

Small update on the Money Market:

The depreciation of the NLG has led to a decrease of our total value but this is only relative. It has also allowed us to better control the MM so in the future an appreciation is possible. For now however we will keep the NLG at the current level but will continue to monitor the worldwide situation.
