What Are We Doing America?

Here I am, sitting on my couch. Wondering, what am I doing? Why am I here, seven years later. What keeps me coming back? Do you want to know Americans? I sure hope so, because I'm going to tell you, whether you like it or not.

People. That's why I keep logging in. I might not participate as much as I use to, but I'm here. Back in years passed, I would check in multiple times per day, my paid breaks at work would include a quick peek with a primitive smart phone made by Motorola, these days, I'm using a Samsung chromebook and a Galaxy S6 (awesome phone by the way, I decided to not purchase an actual camera due to this thing's on board camera quality. Thanks for saving me 300 bucks Samsung.) However, I'm still coming back on a semi-casual status.

It's the people, folks like Cubby, CyberWitch, Jadiv, Tormannosaurus-Rex, darcy, Josh Frost, eldemann, JasonTheGreat, Christopher L Ripple, among others.

You dudes are the reason I keep coming back in a drunken stupor. This is the reason I continue doing what I do, drunk people simply need someone to conversate with. eRepublik supplies those people. 24/7 there is someone around who is possibly willing to talk. This is what brings me back, not coups, not epic battles (which arent every epic anymore IMO). It's the people, worldwide, I've managed to meet people from every corner of the world on this trainwreck of a game. I've built friendships, alliances, coalitions, borderline empires and nemeses on this game. All of these relationships are reasons to return to the game. In the next week or so I will once again attain one of the highest Military Ranks in the game. Something force. Back in 2010 I achieved the rank of Field Marshall, That was quite an achievement during that time. I was a member of the eUS ARMY, only myself and NXNW/eUSARMY/CC were at that rank at the time. Over the next few months, more Soldiers joined us, I was willing to give up my spot in order for more eAmerican fighters to join us in the elite group of fighters to be known as tanks. I had nothing left to fight for until it happened. V2 occured, almost everyone was demoted. There was a new dynamic to the game. Strategy was severely increased.

Strategy was instantaneously brought to the forefront at a micro level. Instead of Congress and CPs making strategic calls, the guys on the battlefield made a difference. In the eUS Military (at the time) each branch was assigned a portion of the battlefield. I was serving as Executive Officer of the eUS ARMY at the time. I had a great group of folks, we were effective for what strength we had. My group was able to run over any international force, based on my observation, and further observation from the JCS. We were able to turn battles, back when it didn't require players with 70k strength to turn entire battles. We worked together in order to turn the tides. We exhibited teamwork on an almost hourly basis. That is how games are intended to be played. Everyone should feel wanted, needed, necessary. Sure, I feel useful as a World Class Force 18k strength Soldier, I can turn D1 battles. If it's out of my realm of damage, I don't put too much into it. This game has taken people who have played for years, like myself and dozens of others, and made them obsolete thanks to new troops making multi accounts and/or paying money to make huge gains in a small amount of time. Players who have been playing for under a year SHOULD NOT HAVE STRENGTH HIGHER THAN A 7 YEAR VETERAN OF THIS GAME. Get your heads out of your asses eRepublik.
