UNITY.

Those of you who know who I am should know that I've played this game for quite some time. Those of you who don't know who I am have probably been playing for two minutes and all you know is what happens now. The way things work now is the norm, how things have always worked and you're ok with that because you don't know any better.

The way I see things in relation to "unity" is that the idea behind it is destroying what the game is. eRepublik is an online game where you get to choose what persona you wish to adopt. Sure, you can choose manipulative snake with little man syndrome if you wish. Just know if you do that, you are the problem. If you willingly and knowingly hinder anyone from excelling in the game you are guilty of ruining aspects of the game for not just one person but many.

This is the way the world works. One person who may have had a shot at temporary power may have done something different than the person who held the position. Would the outcome be positive or negative? Fact is it doesn't matter. That's just how it is.

The main issue I see with "unity" is the whole election process in game is now worthless as I see it. Undoubtedly if I were to decide to run for president next month, I would have no shot in hell simply because I would want no part in a "unity" election and I probably don't really conform well to what "America" is looking for, that's beside the point though. Why add another step? Why should 250(number out of thin air) people pick who will lead 900? What makes that minority of people so much more competent than everyone else? So much more competent that the people who don't participate aren't even encouraged to vote their own way.

How about we run good candidates? Someone the nation wants to vote for. This is what the eUS needs. Or is it? Does the eUS need struggle and strife to unite? Does demise and defeat bring us together?

In my experience struggle and defeat bring this community together than anything. Maybe we need a good PTO. Maybe a full scale orgy of an invasion from every front. Then again, we could just knock the in-fighting off, let the game work how the mechanics allow it to and be happy.

I don't like this article. It's disorganized but I typed it up in about 6 minutes so I'm just gonna let it run its course.
