Time for Fundamental Change!

Day 3,755, 21:28 Published in Ireland United Kingdom by wingfield

Citizens of eIreland

After several months of frustration, many of you are asking if anything is ever going to change. We are tossed around as ePeru’s plaything and get nothing in return that cannot be gained by simple individual participation in the game.

My opponent has proposed some changes but this reads strangely to me, coming from a leading participant in the last two Cabinets. He wants to implement pet projects like a national Military Unit and a “Dublin Commune”, whatever that may be.

I say that it is time for major change. We end this grovelling to Peru and fight for independence, no matter how long it takes. This game is played over years, not days, as seems to escape some people with low XP levels but lofty ambitions. Over nine years in this game I have seen the rise and fall of many strong and weak countries and I know that perseverance and patience always win out.

I know that the first thing some will say is that standing up to ePeru will result in a perma-wipe. I say that this is a minor problem. No wipe lasts forever. Citizens still get to play and fight. Pride and honour and fighting for freedom beats hell out of growing a long tongue impervious to taste, which seems to be the main characteristic of those who wish to appease and collaborate with our occupiers.

This means that the so-called training war will end. We will fight resistance wars in regions of our choosing and we will not allow attacks on our regions to be uncontested.

We will accept support and friendship from wherever it is offered but we cannot afford MPPs on our measly and irregular income. However, I will strongly support Congress in voting through MPP proposals from those who want to help us. We will naturally offer our help in return for the wars of our friends.

That being said, no one gets to use us as a launching pad for any of their plans for aggression, no matter which country we may border. Similarly, no one holds any region of ours without either paying rent or expecting a fight from us for its liberation.

My Cabinet will be small, as our small citizenry does not warrant a large Cabinet. There will be no teams, just enough dedicated people willing to shoulder specific responsibilities. Those who will fill these roles know who they are and it suffices to say that they will not be members of the existing Cabinet and will be members of the parties that have endorsed me.

One final note. eIreland is for the eIrish. No matter where a citizen lives in real life, if they are a citizen of eIreland in eRepublik, they are as welcome as anyone else and they share in the rights and obligations of a citizen of this eCountry.

No citizen fo a foreign country will be permitted access to our Congress feed.
