Keeping your powder dry
I am not really a fan of Ayn Rand – too many issues!
However, something about “Atlas Shrugged” clicked a button in me yesterday. About a month ago I fantasized about setting up an internal opposition over West in Oregon or someplace like that. People who’d had it with Unity and the government could band together and save up their votes for whenever righteous chastisement was warranted against the government.
Perhaps this is not such an idle fantasy. I saw one brilliant article yesterday, about “Doing a Galt” and another one this morning about citizens becoming truly “independent”.
OK, so where do these musings lead me, in the context of what I have been arguing in these articles? A few bullet points will help here:
• we have no actual functioning government. There are names and titles but no one is ever at the office;
• the political system in the eUS is in lockdown, with no third option between two equally unpalatable alternatives;
• neither of these opposing forces are prepared to give an inch – to each other or anyone else;
• we are down to one region – by the time you read this we may be wiped;
• the prevailing political situation has rendered it impossible for new talent to emerge – save those who have long tongues impervious to taste.
Many of you are about to make a shattering discovery – that we can manage very well on our own, thank you very much!
Before we go off into our wilderness sanctuaries and plan our re-emergence to take back America, in more ways than one, consider the following:
• the grand official taking of the line in the sand – which I’ll name “Operation Ham-Fisted”, in the interests of greater accuracy – was a complete and utter failure.
• the government sought – and got – US-AIM co-operation, because we had to keep faith and give the regime one last chance – but still no one in any official position exercised any leadership or communication skills.
• the great “reform” touted by Unity left us completely in the dark, like mushrooms fed on bovine manure – no official announcement of the Unity candidate and not even any declaration of the votes from Top 5 and other parties.
So, now it’s time to say goodbye, and thanks for all the rancid fish.
With no government and no regions. Life goes on. Here is what you need to do:
• DO NOT VOTE IN THE CP ELECTION! Refuse to endorse any of the blackguards
• Do not belong to a political party that works to maintain the status quo.
• Do not belong to a government military unit. Join one of the US-AIM units.
• If you are out of a job, get one in another country. Then you will pay no tax to the scoundrels who have robbed you blind to date.
• Follow military orders from someone who knows what they are doing – in US-AIM we consult and then promote the results of our decisions – AND get better results than the regime; and most of all
• KEEP YOUR POWDER DRY!
You are not alone; not forgotten; and there will be an end to this shambles.

I wasn't aware that you were a part of the government seeing everything that we did. I guess the WHPR's that have been going out didn't happen. I guess eNPR isn't a thing. I guess the whole Recruitment Drive thing also just doesn't exist. I totally just have a title, and do nothing behind it.

Really? Is that why two major cabinet positions are staffed by people who haven't previously held positions at all in the Executive? Or is that why we're constantly asking people to help volunteer for the DoI, or Media, or State. It really hurts your integrity to serve as an ambassador, or to give out food to new players right? That really hurts the common person's dignity.
For all of your bitching Wingfield, I've never seen you actually try to help out. Never have I read your name offering your help in the Recruitment drive, or the DoI, or the things that help out the average citizen.

That's why when the operation launched, there were mass shouts and supplies on behalf of the government, not to mention NBS broadcasts, publicly accessible orders, and articles. Absolutely no leadership.
We lost a battle. Against a country significantly more powerful than us. You can play the blame game all you want, but what else could've been done? Communication between USAIM and the USAF was there, we supplied, we coordinated with our allies, and we couldn't win one of the battles. That is the nature of war, and every defeat isn't casus belli to burn it all down. It just means we have to push harder next time.
Oh, and the Unity results were posted. Check the last WHPR. Just because you don't bother to check Government Communication doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
You, Civil Anarchy, are part of the problem. Attempting to shoot the messenger is not part of the solution, Mr Propaganda Minister!
You wouldn't know what help or effort was. I have a far longer track record of government service than you. Your mob do not deserve help or service. Just give up now and let us have our country back.
You literally didn't answer any of the things wrong with this article. Half of the things you say are straight up false, and yet you continue on as if nothing is wrong?
Calling this article full of arguments if fallacious in and of itself if you aren't willing to defend them, and would rather just shout out ad hominem attacks instead.
So tell me wingfield, if your history of government service is so valuable to you, then why haven't you tried to help in the past six months? I've had access to all of the cabinet applications, and know for a fact that you haven't offered any assistance to the organization that you're arguing should be burnt down. So basically what you're saying is, instead of volunteering to try and fix it yourself, you'd rather just sit on the sidelines and complain about the government being ineffective?
I also know that you're not helping out with the Recruitment drive either, because I'm the one personally running it. The one thing that might actually get us out of this invasion is something you see as beneath you, something you could care less about helping out with.
It's not a mob getting your help and service. It's the country. Every new player, every person who helps fight this nation in some way gets help from the government, whether it be via direct support in the DoI, support via the USAF, opportunities through government positions, treaties that have helped preserve our countries internal stability through ATO voters.
No matter how you put it, things like the Recruitment Drive help everyone. We're trying to make things better, and you not only refuse to help, but actively hinder it.
Just because you can throw wall of text to outdo my article length does not mean that anything you write is any better than pure manure.
First example: "the results were announced in the WHPR - explain why the article was pulled AND did not include full figures. That is no announcement!
Next: "eNPR" - lol - that tripe! You should listen to it yourself and see how bad it is.
YOU are the one who has to defend failure. That same responsibility does not rest with your critics when you are the ones who fail us.

What are you talking about? The article wasn't pulled, it's still up for everyone to see. The article included all of the major T4 parties, and the other parties hadn't posted their results. The reason the other results hadn't been posted is because they hadn't been sent in by the other parties, nor had they been confirmed by the Commissioner, therefore, we gave you all of the information that was available at the time of publishing. It's obvious that you didn't even care to do research about your contention, when you stated that none of the T5 had published results.
Maybe you don't enjoy eNPR. To each their own. That doesn't negate the fact that you specifically said that the government does nothing, and I come on every week to do eNPR. You accused me, personally, of doing nothing, and I am giving you a circumstance where I did in fact, do something. Lots of people enjoy it, and lots of people tune in to it on a weekly basis. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean you get to say that people are lazy and not doing their jobs.
If you called every government a failure because it lost to the most powerful country eWorld, then no government could ever meet your standard of success. A capable government can't pull goldbeasts out of thin air, or bring damage where it doesn't exist. All they can do is communicate and use their resources to try to win. You still haven't given me one thing we could've done differently with that Operation, only asserting that the government is entirely to blame.
Pull the other what? I honestly don't know what you're talking about. All that I know is I can point to something I did that is tangibly helping the country, something you accuse me of NOT doing, and I can point to the fact that you have refused to help.

The 6th parties weren't contacted up until yesterday, and it was only done after I trashed the T4 PPs for their ineptitude. This month's Unity has been an utter failure, and the blame only lies with the T4 PPs. I was planning to write an article, but didn't have the willpower.

Civil: I always like your views. I didn't read this article as "burn it all down". I read it as "do it differently".
I find that Wing has been helping a lot: I've read all his articles, all his helpful insights, all his suggestions. Hint hinit.
I know you read for understanding. He suggests that the government, although actually doing some stuff, is not doing it very well. I find it hard to disagree. Good intentions and hard work no doubt. But not effectual. We have a new administration coming. I admit to skepticism about improvement after having listened to last night's eNPR1 broadcast.
The most significant point is that the "Unity" philosophy was a guarantee with a price. It swept away the ferocious competition which produces good leaders, potent ideas, and effective leadership. Perhaps that is mistaken but it needs to be seriously considered as we go forward.
Wing suggests a new approach. The next president will have an opportunity to demonstrate that he is its embodiment. He and others should be prepared to meet a serious challenge head on, with ideas and execution. And no whining.
Sorry Oliver, but what you're saying isn't what wingfield is saying.
The way that you help fix things is to get involved yourself. Regardless of what he says, the government is constantly looking for new people to support the movement. I personally just wrote a 3000 word document to help the new Secretary of Media, a person who is an up and coming talent, new the to the scene. We are actively searching for people to change things, actively trying to incorporate new people to help out.

I would actually agree with you in a few areas oliver, especially regarding the duty of the next president. They're going to have a lot of challenges moving forward, fighting the invasion, and rebuilding a government infrastructure. However, that's not what this article is supporting. At the end, it explicitly states to leave any political positions, don't vote in elections, don't be a part of the United States Military, ect.
We can move forward. But we can't do it when people just say screw everything and refuse to participate. Every American willing to help out has a spot in the upcoming administration, every single person who wishes to make a change has a place. But with articles like these, propaganda trying to tell them not to participate, and instead, destroy everything that exists, is not the way that such a result will be accomplished.

It has been a long time since team US has had an actual "opposition" to the way things are done. Opposition does tend to disagree and sometimes quite ferociously. It provides opportunity. No one should fear and the struggle of ideas should be welcomed with civility and terrible fury. Or civil anarchy.

Wingfield, what you have said here is good. You forgot to give credit where credit is due, to our Elite potus Artela for starting this war. If I am wrong in what I just said I am sorry in advance. This is sad that our ecountry's government can brag about conducting an ATO effort all night but can not conduct a war effort for 12 hours.

I might be new to the politics here, but I know this to be a very true.
Just so I'm clear, I'm not saying screw everything either, I think the people I've met in my party are pretty cool. But I do agree that competition sharpens one's wit. That's human nature. If the only competition is 1 party that you outnumber 2.5 to 1, thats going to make one complacent.

As always with these articles, you make some excellent points on the state of the eUS. Yet, the points you choose to emphasis and the way you respond to criticism would make it seem more as if those insights come more by accident than anything, even a blind squirrel occasionally finds a nut etc.
What you suggest here isn't patriotism or reform, what you offer up is apathy. One not willing to work to better their country is one not really invested in it.
if you re read you will see the very concrete suggestions made. They just don't include maintaining the status quo.
The last year in the US, suggestions which don't include working with the status quo tended to be brushed off as "complaints without solutions" instead of "criticisms with new ideas": see for instance the Candor and the Savon CP campaigns. Of course, not all ideas are good ones. In retrospect, however, suggestions such as "do NOT do Cntrl", "do NOT abandon your allies", "do NOT purposely give up our bonuses", "do NOT continue with the failed immigration policy" probably had some merit. So too ideas such as "DO dramatically increase transparency", "DO aggressively build strong alliances, support EDEN and encourage immigration of good players", "DO work toward obtaining and maintaining maximum bonuses as an attraction for strong players and strong alliances", "DO tell the truth at all times in all circumstances" etc etc.
I don't for a moment blame the political class for having made decisions: this is always difficult and there will always be those who disagree. But to suggest that no viable aternatives have been offered, or that the present article offers none, is mistaken. Not to worry. We have a new administration taking office tomorrow. The challenge of vigorously building anew will be their challenge (and ours) and they will find support to the extent that they are good at it. That is what Team eAmerica needs: good execution.

Dissent of the status quo results in long winded retaliation claiming "I wasn't aware that you were a part of the government seeing everything that we did" Basically enforcing the notion that you have no idea what you're talking about and that you can't possibly understand how hard the politicians are working between shifts at Walmart and Taco Bell and that you should simply STFU.
Your points will be singularly debated rather than focusing on the overall message, which seems to the non-zealot to be beyond debate. You will be called out as a complainer and you will be asked "What are you doing to make a difference?" Mikey: you have been a congressman four times. During that time I would have expected you to argue vociferously for government transparency. You haven't but Wingfield's very first article did in addition to announcing the formation of a new US MU. I would have expected you to have deeply considered the virtue of the CNTRL treaty and the policy of deliberately losing our bonuses. I would have expected action against those who lied us into war against eCanada and to address the idiotic way in which immigration was being approached. Wingfield has addressed all of these points in many articles over the last year, and much more. He probably, and I certainly, expected elected congressmen to do more than was done. When congressmen who have been elected four times do pretty well nothing except say "hey, that's not my jurisdiction", when congressmen don't think that they have a duty to act as a deliberative body, to hold government to account, to actually raise and ferociously debate, when congress is a pedestrian moribund body that simply votes on in game laws, when congressmen do nothing and then say that I have "NO idea what you're talking about", when continuously publishing good ideas for over a year is "do nothing", well ..... that is when you are very close to correct in saying that to "call yourself an eAmerican is disgraceful..." You are close to right. But it isn't quite yet true that to call oneself an eAmerican is disgraceful. Wing is making his contributions toward ensuring it will not become correct. Won't you too? Will you not take a moment or two of quiet contemplation, read for understanding, and contribute positively? With respect: do better than you have done in congress. That will be a start. If you want to set the bar really high, do at least as well as Wingfield.

New talent has totally risen. In the last 2 months, I moved up the ladder and haven't PTO'd the WTP yet.

Like Wingfield, you have expressed disappointment about certain things. Your article was not "bunk", nor is his - just honest expression of a reasonable opinion. When you dismiss contrary opinions out of hand you tend to grow what he calls "a long tongue without taste". What a lovely metaphor. Give it some thought and read for understanding.

Meh. To be fair, the article you cite (which is still heart-felt) was mostly about someone in a position of power attempting to break the rules. This one is merely a list of gripes, some of which are utterly unfounded, and his "solutions" are soiled water at best.
Support a foreign government with your taxes and don't vote. Brilliant suggestions.

How about instead of calling for people to recoil from our government we ask them to volunteer? You cannot change the system if you just yell and scream from the outside.

Not sure what you are talking about. I joined the USWP 2 months ago after being PP of the Vox Populi. All I did was ask where help was needed the most, gave insight, and suggested ways to improve things. Since than I have been able to advance through the ranks quite well both in the party and in our government.
People want to hear outside voices, and new ideas. Thoughts that challenge the way things are done, or the way you think. What they do not want to hear is rhetoric that equates to "government bad because elite elitists are eliting themselves all over."
My time spent in the "opposition" left me with a bad taste because the "opposition" literally does nothing, and then complains about nothing changing. You actually have to get involved to change things. And no the media does not count as getting involved because all it does really is tell people what you think. If you actually back up those thoughts with actions than we have something. That is my problem with the "opposition" nothing gets done.
All I can say is who ever brought us to this alliance might want to think about it again. Hopefully with failure comes some wisdom. Wingfield is right about our country needing change as the same ole just isn't working!
All of the congressmen: OF COURSE nothing is being done 'cause YOU are not doing it. All the suggestions and "gripes", they are your cue to do something ..... Executive: when people make suggestions and provide ideas and demonstrate error, the approriate response is not to say "you never do anything", it is to say "holly jumping I never did anything, I better change that".
Can you imagine your elected mayor, councilman, senator, congressperson telling their constituents who elected him that he doesn't listen to them cause they don't try to get elected? HE is elected by them to DO stuff. Here is what I DO beside providing ideas, suggestions and critique: I elect you. Now, please do your part. Start by reading for understanding.
