The Mr Crumpets 4 CP Campaign - What went wrong
Mr Crumpets
Good Evening eAustralia,
Well you haven't read an article from me in nearly a week.
Is it because of anger at what happened? Actually, no.
More I got busy with work and football over the last few days and just ran out of hours in the day.
So let's try and figure out what happened.
The lead up to this CP election campaign was a little different. Due to the 20 day months of February, there would be only 7 days between Senate and CP elections, when there would normally be about 10/11.
The short campaign saw less articles and overall noise from the candidates.
I was hoping I'd be the favourite for this campaign. I fell just 6 votes short last time, but had become more active and presented better arguments since that defeat.
Due to Tim_Holtz not getting much traction with potential allies (mainly due to the CoT Courts and stuff), my approach of 'Fast Government' seemed to resonate with some people.
So on February 26th I proposed to my Green and Gold Party colleagues that I run again and seek their endorsement.
Around the same time, Icetek approached me about running under the PDP banner - I thanked him, but declined out of loyalty to the GGP.
In the 24 hours after my post in the GGP forums, I had members encouraging me to run, with no other contenders (from the GGP or elsewhere mentioned).
During this time, Molly Jo asked if I would mind stepping aside so she could have the GGP endorsement. I respectfully declined, explaining about how close I got last time and that I might not be able to run for a while after the March CP race (due to RL football and work commitments).
So it seemed set for a three cornered contest. MC v MJ v Draim.
On March 1st I asked in the GGP forums that if there was no objections, could Majester hit the endorsement button.
Then for two days I waited. Majester had been seen posting in another thread during this time, but not as active as much as in the past.
I shouted in the party thread, made another post in the forums and sent Majester an in game message asking him to hit the endorsement button.
Nothing
🙁No word from him until March 4th when it was too late.
In eRepublik, for a person to run for CP, they must be endorsed by the Party President of the Party they are in before March 3rd.
Other Party Presidents can back that endorsement, but only after the party the candidate is in, gives them the original endorsement.
The top 5 candidates (ranked by their party's place on the ladder) contest the election.
Because Majester didn't hit the button in time, I couldn't take part in the election.
Am I angry, no. Am I disappointed, yes.
I don't believe Majester didn't hit the button for sinister reasons, I believe (and hope) it was a case of some RL stuff took him away from the game so he couldn't do it.
I guess why I'm disappointed in him is because he didn't respond to my in game email, or post on the GGP threads a 'Ooops, sorry man, I slipped up, because of...' message.
I felt I at least deserved that.
Next article, I'll outline (since it won't happen now) what plans I had for Foreign Affairs, including allies and a risky military move that if it happened, would change the face of future negotiations for eAustralia.
Thanks everyone,
Mr Crumpets.

Sad Face
Tough break mate. : (
Better luck next time.
unlucky mate 😕
🙁
Like I said elsewhere MC we've had our bats but I feel for what you went through. In another game I played for 2 years the national president could be elected either through a party president mechanic or a draft of 10 citizens. One of the reasons the admins adopted it was if the PPs went inactive or lulz. This brings the true power back to the people and if eRep ever implemented it I imagine many would welcome it and give more people the chance to run.
You and Molly would have split votes, just saying.
Just for curiosity's sake how do you figure? Just saying they had some divergent policies.
GGP most likely voted for Molly and not Draim. If MC ran we would've seen GGP vote for MC and ARP vote for Molly, but Draim still wouldn've had the same amount of votes.
Sorry Val - wouldn't have or would've? If the latter I disagree. Draim and Crumpets may have differed on the foreign policy front, sure. Whether we agree or disagree, Draim's position is largely TH legacy and Crumpets was to look at alternative options - but both was largely an internal process that would take months to get their respective models drafted, tweaked, got feedback from traditionally allied nations, Senate coverage etc.
Molly, however, had a more inclusive idea for eAustralia to play a role in, which included a weapon that Draim doesn't have - stronger, more personal relationships with key eUS military and political figures. It will prove interesting to see how the Alexander administration will fare with Vanek's. Vanek is a different type of figure to the past few months. Better or worse - we'll see.
Plenty of people around who know Vanek and key US military and even non-US gov military people. Access is never exclusive.
Frankly, if you are prepared to play the game of with-holding access to people who can help Australia simply because you do not like a party or its leader ... then you are the problem.
True leaders lead instead of grub for title and position.
Australia first.
Not so sure, scottty. On policy alone I suspect the GGP voters have favoured Draim this election. I suspect it could have been a pretty close run with Mr. Crumpets in the ring.
So you disagree to agree, in other words? That was the point I was trying to make, except I used less incendiary examples.
it really does suck, more competition the better 🙁
Don't give up trying...
Majester Saves.
I do sincerely apologise. I understand the frustration of being robbed of an opportunity.
The plan was to endorse before DC on the 3rd after a pary poll. A string of power failures and other annoying and very distracting RL issues distracted me to the point of actually losing track. The poll never started, and the endorsement wasn't done. When I did eventually get on (reminded by an unread message from Plato), it was already the 3rd and the deed done.
Hugs?
Do it with cookies! 😃
Hugs.
Unlucky mate. Your time will come
They just won't let you run coz they know you can win. Sad.
They? Since when do you refer to me in the plural? So sweet.
not my grammar fail as usual xD, btw your explanation is lame, active players like you just don't miss these things, anyway MC accepted your apologise, it's only important and you can see his greatness
