Swiss Diplomacy - Mandate Report - August 2020

Day 4,674, 19:46 Published in Switzerland Switzerland by Swiss Dep. of Foreign Affairs

Dear Swiss Citizens,

The Presidential elections ended yesterday. The political campaign has ended, and it is time to concentrate our efforts, both in the Government and in Congress, on all that is good for our Country in terms of administration and government.

I want to congratulate our new CP, Terry Benedictt, on his overwhelming victory. And to all the contenders who fought for the Presidency yesterday. And to highlight here the impressive international support that our President received both in private and public messages and which is a sign that our diplomatic relations are in a great moment.

Congratulations Switzerland!

I was talking with our newly elected CP, and I found him very enthusiastic, with a lot of energy and with extreme gratitude for the trust that the majority of the Swiss placed in our Government yesterday. It is important for you to know that although our government was widely voted, it is the President's commitment to be a President of all and not a political leader of a faction. Our Switzerland is everything, and that is our pole star to navigate towards the best for our beloved Switzerland.

I want to tell you, a few hours before the closing of the management corresponding to the month of August, that our country received in time and form the deposits corresponding to the taxes and fees resulting from our international agreements.

They were duly informed to our Honorable Congress.

We kept our TW`s in perfect condition, and carried out the operations that were necessary according to our international commitments. Obviously we will not describe them here because they are a state secret, but we inform you that Switzerland was present in the Global context of our alliances and agreements and satisfactorily fulfilled its diplomatic objectives.

We have reached an agreement with our Italian friends, and we hope to have a TW with them soon, and strengthen our ties of collaboration, support and friendship.

Congress is currently voting. I hope our Switzerland and dear Italy will enjoy a TW soon.

We are optimizing details of the Ambassador Program, we already have several embassies ready to inaugurate, and in a future article we will return to this topic.

I want to personally thank our CP Terry Benedictt for giving me ample freedom for everything related to my role as Minister. And knowing the opening to dialogue of our President, and bearing in mind our recent dialogue (hours before), I want to say to all Swiss citizens that our Government is an open-door Government. Our President believes and practices group work, and whoever wants to join the Government, know that our goal is a Switzerland of all and for all.

Best regards,
