Senate. To be or not to be?

Day 1,455, 17:33 Published in Netherlands United Kingdom by Bernard Hoffington

Firstly let me welcome you to 'Bell Progress'. A newspaper with the sole purpose to help inform you of up to date politics within the eNetherlands congress.

This week has seen three debates and subsequently three votes regarding the senate.

People unfamilliar with the senate should know that this is a group of 3 people, including the head of senate thats responsibility is to moderate the eNL forum and hold the government organization passwords.

The first of the three senate proposals was to elect a new member in place of Luuklag.
Luuklag, having recently been elected as country president was honorably discharged from the senate. This is due to a law stating a member of the senate cannot also be the country president.

Three candidates were put forward; ElGorro, Frerk and Daniel Parker.
After the 24 hour voting session was complete Daniel Parker was elected as the newest member of the senate with a total of 6 votes.
Respectively, ElGorro recieved 3 and Frerk was unable to recieve a single vote.

Meanwhile in congress Daniel Parker had also introduced a new idea to reform the senate where they would be given the responsibility to be asked for advice by government and law proposers regarding laws and other political infomation.
They would also lose the right to moderate congress forums as Daniel Parker stated Chariman of congress was enough.

This proposal was rejected and only recieved 3 votes in favor and 6 against.
Having been elected senator he was also unable to vote on his own proposal due to the law stating a senator cannot vote on matters regarding the senate.

NoTie112 then created a debate and discussion within congress about the abolishment of the senate completely. This vote is still underway now.

His idea was to completely remove the senate and put in place a single title, that being the 'Keykeeper'. This position would do a job similliar to that of the head of the senate; Hold onto the state organisation passwords.

Currently this vote is in favor of abolishing the senate. So, is this the end for the senate?
