Religion should not be a political tool

Day 1,965, 16:28 Published in USA USA by Syz2

AFA has shown some strong Christian belief, Ronald Gipper Reagan in particular. Take for example the following Article Names:
Vote American Freedom Alliance for Congress: God is With Us!
[AFA] We are the Way, and the Truth, and the Life....

The articles themselves are saturated with religious references, as well as images saying such things as "God has a plan. We're it!" referencing his party alone.

As a devout Christian, this upsets me. And it upsets many who aren't religious as well. Why?

Christianity is a religion. Its not a tool, its not simply a way to get publicity. I'm not saying it isn't good to profess your religion, but Jesus taught us that we should make sure "your fasting may not be seen by men but by your Father who is in secret" as in we shouldn't try to make ourselves seem good the way that Ronald Gipper Reagan is, trying to sway the way people view him. Many of us pray long each day, go to church many times a week, and other such things. But we don't try to make ourselves look good for it like he does, to sway how people look at him. We do what we do because it is part of our religion, not for the sake of what others think like he does.

But there is a reason he does this. Because he thinks religion is a tool, a simple way of getting votes. His religion is publicity. If he is a Christian, it would be a religion to him, not publicity. If you want to make articles about your religion, I don't care. Just don't use MY religion or anyone else's, to turn people's faith into a vote.

This game has nothing to do with religion. You can't use a presidential office in this game to impact the legalization of abortion or whatever religious ideal you may have in real life. God has NOT ordained you the next president in a game. The game's removal from a religious spectrum is a major reason why the nonreligious are upset at this. If you want people to vote for you, give them a reason, show you are fit for a political office. But don't go showing off religion for the single reason of getting votes. That isn't what a religion is at all. In this game, religious views are NOT political views.

Ronald Gipper Reagan continuously tries to find passages in the bible to relate to this party, though they do not. But there are some passages that do refer to him and his party. For those who are Christian, here are a few passages out of the Bible that are easily applied to Ronald Gipper Reagan and his party:

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within they are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness. So you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity."

"Why do you call me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do what I tell you?"

"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits."
Here AFA has clearly displayed their fruits. They bribe people to help them, impersonate people to try to gain power, and many other things all with screenshot proof. As the good tree "cannot bear evil fruit" AFA has clearly shown its bad fruits.

"You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he sai😛 'This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me'"

"their very minds and consciences are corrupted. They profess to know God, but they deny him by their deeds; they are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good deed."

And of course:
"For if any one thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself."

People like RGR who think religion is just a political tool are, in my eyes, despicable people. Hopefully other Christians, and those who aren't as well, will see that RGR's religious/political articles are a detestable way to play the game, and continue practicing our beliefs without letting people use them for selfish gain.
