This is in response to an article that was already a response article.

Now one idea was 5 gold for every top news article which means every time i want to promote an article with buyers club i would get an additional medal and gold as reward as well.

Top news = number of votes. or SHIFT + T on your keyboard.

Where have we strayed? A newspaper contains the news of the day and a few cartoons , reviews about films and albums perhaps theater. I often use mine for painting stuff. And religiously saved newspapers when i was studying had like a full cupboard of the stuff neatly folded and saved for probably the next tenant who needed to paint my apartment. Its also good for starting a braai or barbecue(in the usa although yours is a different concept than ours). Certainly if we paid newspaper journalist for only producing the top 5 articles or having 1000 subscribers there wont be much newspapers around. Quality is good but really quantity = activity which means more interaction between players and that raises the player numbers of eRepublik.

So instead of rewarding subscribers or top news lets make it per count. 50 articles and you get say 50 gold. (Your time to write 50 articles is much more than what it would take most to make 10 bh's.

Further Motivation:
One gets a lot of people who logs in frequently and then hangs around reading whatever article is available.

So lets think more of say Ireland as one newspaper do one want just quality articles. Comparing it with your local newspapers. I would rather read 20 articles from new players than only 1 long winded article from 1 player. When I buy a newspaper and reads it I usually read only some articles but if there were like 5 articles I would not buy it.

So reward a daily active country newspaper versus a few articles by old players who superimpose their bias on whatever they write.
