One country, one army.

The average Canadian is extremely subjective. This is something I abhor. Common goals and the attempt of bringing in new idea's are stagnated by these abstract minds. Constant arguments tend to enter an autistic state and solve nothing.
The current MU funding program is outdated, and does not reflect the current financial situation of Canada. I propose a change effective as soon as possible, to commit all available MU funding over to the CAF. Existing MU's other then the CAF will be expected to solve their state of finances on their own.
Canada can no longer support degenerate, long lasting MU's who, over the course of time have been unable to operate without the assistance of welfare.
Canada simply cannot give handouts to everyone.
Military units are expected to seek assistance from their loyal companions and encouraged to invest freely into the development of Weapon Factories and Saltpeter Mines.
Canada and it's citizens must work together in order to achieve economic superiority.
The remaining Canadian MU's who are unable to raise the necessary funding required for survival from their own flesh and blood have proven moral fibre ceases to exist within the confinements of the Military Unit, and the recipients of the MU do not believe in the cause of it's present Military Unit or the Canadian Government.
Hard to come by Canadian funds cannot be wasted on scavengers and slopsuckers.
Military funds saved from this course of action can be put towards a 'Mercenary Fund' to help better defend Canadian Sovereignty. All Canadian MU's, with the exception of the CAF can and will be eligible to be compensated for their combat role against Canadian Invaders.
Active Military units other then the CAF will benefit greatly from a Mercenary Fund.

The CAF should be dissolved.
I guess this article is on the opposite side of the spectrum then what the Canadian Progressive Front represents. So from one of my personal messages I received, the CAF at one time long ago was the only funded MU in the country?
The CAF used to be the only funded MU. Since then they have become separate to the government and are now just another eCan MU, they are no longer the country's "national army".
"Canada can no longer support degenerate, long lasting MU's who, over the course of time have been unable to operate without the assistance of welfare."
You do realise that communes are only a very recent thing for the CAF. Prior to that they relied 100% on the government handout.
I would very much welcome your input into the discussion we are having on the forums here -

I'm just making a proposition that I don't actually believe in.
You have to remember that the game didn't always encourage having multiple MUs back then like it does now.
Thanks for the invite Homer, taking a look at it right now.
stop all the funding. set all taxes to 0%, bask in the glory.
Not a country
Not real armies
It's a resource management game with multiple groups set confined within one resource pool (ie. CS and taxes). How does one define one group as different than the rest when each of them have access to all the same buttons in the game
In other words, eRep does not encourage single 'army' systems, nor does it promote centralization(since elections happen every 30 days).Trying to imagine something as different than what it really is won't make eCan competitive
heh, that's just me taking the cold-hearted realist approach to a click-based game
On the other hand, eRep is a rich internet community that promotes create approaches to playing above and beyond the game mechanics. Creating a national army defined through a Charter and Code of Conduct, answering to the call to arms of our President and assembled Congress, is a great way to add depth and playability.
We should also bring back the Order of Military Merit for our brave soldiers who sacrifice themsevles in the name of honour and duty to our great nation. Without their constant vigilance, surely eCanada would not a be true representation of our time and memorial motto of True North Strong and Free:

o7 to our national heroes!!!
sorry for all the typos above ~ I still think it is readable and won't go back to repost edited parts ; )
I received the Order of Military Merit 😮
I like the idea of it NOT being CAF only, though.
The CAF has more members working in more slave pits than any other MU. They should have their funding cut and redistributed to the MUs that actually need it.
More people working in pits = more people to supply so it does even out that way. I think if MU funding is to be cut it should be across the board
I'm going to comment on the board tomorrow Homer. Getting late here. Thanks for the link and exposing me to the thread.
I look forward to reading your input
Perhaps rip a page out of South Africa's Book, and make funding CAF exclusive, and any MU that desires funding put itself under the CAF roof and into it's chain of command, and reinstate CAF as the Governments National Army.
Wouldn't it just be easier to move to South Africa if that's what you wanted?
He did 🙂
and here we are coming full circle from two years ago.
Does the name of the MU really effect the places and amounts people fight? Do we really think that only one group should receive the taxes collected from EVERYBODY ELSE?
what makes them so great? What makes others not so great?
What difference does it make if your MU commander answered to a CAF leader, who would be chosen from all MU's?
That way, you cut out the political MU's from funding, and promote unity, wheras the current system promotes seperation
Having just one funded MU didn't promote unity back when that was what we had.
"What difference does it make if your MU commander answered to a CAF leader, who would be chosen from all MU's?"
My question to you is "What is wrong with a choice of MU's, all operating, and offering something, a little different but all following fighting directions from the MoD/CP?"
Well for my part, i think that if an MU want some Funding from the GOVT they should follow the the EO for their MU's DO. That being said, i think we need to rethink GOVT, instead of being a Fund, it should be more like a loan or something, to promote MU self-efficienty. Also we must define what is a ''supply'' i mean for me 10 Q6 wont be enough, but for a moderate D2 citizen it's more than enough. Also: food, i don't need food in supplies, but new members (eYoungs), still need alot.
Btw nice initiative Vry, alot of idea that migt actualy help eCanada in the future for a new, or a better MU funding format.
fine sounds good. then i want open records of where every single CAF funded soldier fights with full accounting for every tax dollar spent. If your going to say the pie can only be for following orders they better damn well never ever fight for their own needs, because that would be hypocritical.
Otherwise, establish the criteria for funding and apply it fairly to everybody.
I just re-joined the crimson order and they actually require all soldiers to post battle damage broken down for every fight they do every day or you dont get a dime.
When i was in Captains of Industry the status quo was to use the tanks or sell them to raise funds for your self supply network. nobody ever questioned where the fights went.
so what is the standard? what bar are we looking to set? I'm sure that whatever the bar is it can be set without a military unit having to submit to an outside "authority" who can allow personality conflicts etc to cloud judgement and get in the way among other things.
What is the CAF doing thats so damn special? because it isnt being efficient, so all i see yet again is a group of people lining up saying "only we are good enough to get tax money that everybody puts into the pile"
screamingslave ~ national spirit mentality
People still unconcsiously fear the 'militias' deep down inside and only feel secure being protected by a 'military'
Who said that the CAF doesn't unite Canada? Everybody's been lining up together to take shots at us for nearly four years now. : p
I've heard this idea a few times now. Without a formal proposal I can't give you the CAF's official position but I can tell you that it would take a lot of good reasons to convince me that funding the CAF only now would be a good idea. I think I said this elsewhere: when the CAF was the only military receiving funding it was a different Canada in a different game.
I disagree with your arguments, however I really enjoyed that your well written article had a point and encouraged debate, please continue to publish things.
This is what will save eCanada: debate, dialogue, discourse.
or we just cut funding to match our monthly income.
In eUS, very few MUs get funding.
i'd be curious to know what the funding criteria is in the eUS though Addy! i mean they must have a reason to give to bill and not fred. maybe bill is good at oral sex, maybe fred smells too much like gasoline, but there must be a reason.
CAF Latest ripoff scheme:
Companies that were paid for with Government $$$$, have been sold off in shares to other CAF members
So, to explain, The Government bought the CAF a weapons companies, in theory, that company already should belong to the entire MU, but instead, the owner of the MU sells that company off in 10 part shares, keeps possession of the company, and keeps the Gold that they received from it's 90% sale
The "commune" workers are the only ones allowed to work in the companies, but its not really a commune since the workers are in reality 10% owners of the company
The owners of the weapons companies, already rich from selling off 90% of the company they had bought for them, also get the benefit from skimming off the top of every weapon produced ( Got to pay for that Max Training Daily somehow....)
CAF: Doing Communes WRONG since Day XXXX - Funding at the expense of the little guy..
Rolo Tahmasee,
Have you ever benefited from illegal and impractical schemes?
If so, how does what you mentioned above differ from the schemes you committed?
I've never benefited from an illegal scheme (in game)
But if you are comparing my out of game exploits to those of the CAF, then that is sort of my point....
Well played.
@Rolo: The shares were to help pay for upgrades (Q7). It's beneficial to the worker to recieve a higher quality weapon, so they helped pay for the upgrade during the offer.
Rolo, the government paid for half of the upgrade of a Q4 to a Q5, not a Q7. That's a total of 92.5 gold. That's 13.3% of a Q7 company. 13.3% of the positions in our Q7 companies - in fact well above that percentage - are filled by players who have not yet fully paid that 10% of the Q7 cost that they agreed to pay. With the gold they pay we are buying and upgrading more companies. So we haven't sold the government's share: we're using it to pay it forward when new workers enter those spots.
