My take on our current situation

Day 3,377, 18:53 Published in Ireland Ireland by Releasethe Krakken

Unfortunately as can be seen by the departure of Sluagh we are reaching a perpetuous/perpetual state of warfare inactivity.

This leads to a lull in activity which leads to players quitting.

Where does this originate. Unfortunately even players like me are sometimes pulled into rl. Tumultuous events in rl led to days of 2 clicking. eireland positioned it into a state of weakness with key players quitting and leaving.

In the coming days "luckily" rl is now without the noise that led to 2 clickin.

So I will return to more activity and try to make this game more bearable for younger players.

As Sluagh pointed out with the Pacifica/Orion peace and with the Orion/Asteria partnership eIreland is left without enemies.

Warfare and occupation have even more dire economic effects on the occupied country.

The USA has as predicted with the current system became the de facto economic outpost/trading station for most players.

As stated therefore a mu commander in Serbia will be as unwilling as a mu commander in Canada or any country to participate in wars against the USA.

The USA is the switzerland of eRepublik every other economy has a share in their economy. Most communes will effectively function from within the USA.

Hence the peace that now exist.

Small countries have mostly few tanks.

Most small countries therefore align themselves with bigger countries. That means that if 2 small countries attack each other there must be a war between their respective bigger partners.

Peru/Serbia forced us out of Australasia

The Orion /Pacifica partnership made further warfare with the UK impossible.

Our state of war has reached an impasse caused by the game mechanics Plato created.

This leads to players quitting which leads to us probably not being war fit anymore.

A country like Ireland is reliant on 3 to 7 key players. When they go inactive the country loses its momentum and downgrade.

If Plato does not change his game mechanics most small countries will not survive.

Changes we need is that:

1. Occupation must have no effect on economics for country players.

2. Warfare and battle must have no effect on economics for country players.

Disable the effects of war on small countries and they would be more willing to engage in battle.

Small countries lose

A.all of their small daily INCOME from occupation
B. usually congress.
C. Bonuses

and ultimately Key players.

Stop the brain drain Plato or face your ultimate doom. If small countries dies off the game will collapse inwards as most big countries do not have the will or motivation to fight each other.

3. The numbers of players in a battle must be controlled. Each player must have a location for his troops that can be moved by only 5 steps a day. That means a Serbian /Romanian player will have to chose a battle or certain campaigns. Direct links is established by AS's and a player can move to home from anywhere in the world once a day at the expense of all further movement.

4. All countries must have NE's and can only NE upwards or a country of similar size downwards. A country can only be Ne'd by 1 country. Continental battles will not require a AS to establish a link to another country only a NE. This is to stop perpetual TW between big partner countries.

5. All regions is reset to their country of origin weekly. For example we decide this week we will try and occupy Northern Ireland after a week though the region is returned. This system will do a lot for small countries as constant occupation will become impossible.

6. NE's last for a term lasting a fortnight and a country cannot NE another country for 2 consecutive terms.

7. If countries do not chose new Ne's within a set time of their NE expiring the game will chose a suitable Ne for them.

8. Auto battles will be called.

9. Regions can be rented out using game mechanics.

10. Otherwise the occupied country does not lose its region bonuses but the occupier gain the region bonus still.

11. Each region has a value according to its number of players and gaining a region wins the occupier a monetary prize. For example a Serbian region may be worth 100000 an Irish one 10000 cc if Ireland occupy a serbian region in a campaign it gains 100000 if the Uk gain an Ireland region it gains 10000.

If there is no expense from warfare and if movement is curbed a small country would be more reliant on themselves and could battle freely.

PEACE has become a curse word in eRepublik with no battle most countries lose masses of players.
