Index update Day 1620

Day 1,620, 04:08 Published in USA Canada by Wilhem Klink
Note: prices are reflective of a percentage of Day 1600's price (Hence the "1600 Index"). In other words if an index is quoted at 88, that days price is 88% of the price on Day 1600.

Day 1620: Raw material prices hold steady at 60. Food prices on the bottom end hold but weakness on the top end (Q5 & Q6) push Food Index down slightly from 83.64 to 83.34. Weapons' prices strengthen pretty much across the range with the Weapons Index moving from 81.01 to 81.71. Gold takes a hit moving from its all-time high of 132.35 to 125.3.

Chart of the Weighted Index

The crack staff here at 1600 Index would like to introduce a new Index, called the 1600 AU Index measures the amount of gold a player can make in one year by selling 20 weapons, 200 Food (both Q6) and 1750 RM (a 50/50 mix of food & weapons) per day plus earning the market wage. The last few weeks of falling prices, falling wages, and rising gold have hammered the index, but it recovers today thanks largely to the gold drop.

On Day 1600, one could buy 451 gold in one year by working, selling 20 weapons, 200 food, and 1750 raw materials. That gold haul slid to 380 on Day 1606 before rallying a bit and then dropping to 271.84 on Day 1619. It has its best one day gain (which really isn't saying too much) jumping to 284.67, a 4.7% gain

Lets check some moving averages. We did weapons last time, so presented are q4 Food. The red line represents the average price on the last 5 days, the blue line the 2:00 eRep time market price. If the Moving Average (red line) is above the market price (blue line) it means prices are trending downward.

Other than a couple of days, Q4 food has steadily been below the 5-day moving average.

Next, food raw materials 5-day moving average.

Very similar results. Prices depressed over the moving average.

Lastly, The Raw Material, Weapons. Looks similar to food overall, but a bit closer to it 5-day average as of late.
