How "NOT" to win an election
Winston Hope Smith
Irishmen and women this is an article I wanted to write yesterday morning but waited until today so I could not be accused of trying to influence the election.
Also please note these are my own views and not necessary those of my Party or its members.
However I would be surprised if what I say is not felt by other eIreland citizens.
My subject is the matter of the conduct of one Party in yesterdays Congress/Dáil elections.
In my opinion the offering of inducements to gain votes (other than moving expenses) is contemptible.
"Welcome to official channel of Irish Progressive Party - "UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL!" || PARTY PAGE: http://www.erepublik.com/en/party/irish-progressive-party-3462/1 || CONGRESS ELECTIONS: GET HERE IN 09:00 EREP TIME TO GET INSTRUCTIONS FOR WHO TO VOTE AND TAKE YOUR CHRISTMASS PRESENT WITH YOU - 5 Q6 WEPS AND 100 IEP "
Is this what we've sunk to?
I tell you now I would rather lose than do that!
I commend the job the IPP has done in the last few weeks building their Party up to now the 2nd largest Party (at time of writing one off the top spot) but how they misjudged the ethical implications of this move I don't know.
MUFC92 may claim only one person took the offer and, whether people believe him or not, we now have questions about all his elected Congressmen. Some very worthy Congresspeople among them who may baulk at my words.
Hell if he increases the "Bribe" he might get the last few Congressmen he needs for a majority.
I call on all honest Citizens of this country to have nothing to do with this practice and never again to reward its use.

Well said mate.
I agree it was in bad taste. But I think writing a whole article about it blows it way out of proportion. MUFC wrote a great article where he gave reasons why each of his canadites should get elected. It was great to see a PP who knew all his members and took the time to put an article like this together. In some countries paying for votes is common practice, could be the case in Croatia? MUFC did great in the election by hard work not offering weapons.
paying for votes in Croatia is indeed very common, and they're pretty open about it. Even in Canada some candidates offer up to 30 Q6 tanks for a vote. Tho,i gotta agree with moo,it wasn't really a good move
Moo if you read my article you will see I am complimentary of how the IPP is run and the rapid rise of it in eIrish politics.its the bribes I have the issues with. There were 5 parties in this election and I have no complaints of the other 4.
mirek 12345 paying for votes was never before a part of eIrish elections and I hope it never again is.
Well said mate x2
Unfortunately WHS this has happened before , but it has been a while
castaneda I never saw it before so it's been quite a while...
Yeah I have great respect for MUFC and he has done a tremendous job firstly as a Minister and now at building up a very strong party in a short space of time.
I am somewhat willing to believe that there were no unethical intentions behind his "presents" - he probably had the best of intentions with them - but I cannot understand why he refuses to accept that these can in some way influence the result of the election. It is clear that these "presents" will help his party get votes that they would not have received otherwise which is evidently unfair.
But is it any different to people who say "I'll give you the moving money if you vote for me?" There really isn't much difference IMO.
Don't give a Fk about what kind of job someone did if that person is a moral crap....
IBhoy's lapdogs at their "best"....
Kurgan according to you logic and constant sprouting all of ireland is IBhoys lapdogs, expect you of course who is above all reproof..
There's a difference though. Some parties pay to mobile vote, not just the vote. That's usually where the incentive is given.
John...moving expenses are just that...expenses...the user has no material benefit after voting.
I'm sorry about offering this presents, I really am..I don't care will you trust me about this one present (until morning 2 presents), both to IPP members from before who didn't vote for themselves but for other IPP candidate.
I'm sorry about this offering gift because you guys really missunderstood me, you listened to some trolls who want bring light on them. I'll never ever offer this gifts again, you have my word about it..but let's clear something. It was Christmass, I gave present also to let's say Bassy and 5n4keys (or something like that) and they didn't vote for IPP, I gave them cuz they asked about it....also there wasn't bad intention about this..
MUFC92 just to be clear I admire what you did with your party and I am critical of this one thing.
It was, IMHO, bad judgement and to be honest why the rest of your Party didn't pick up on it and advise you against it I don't know.
I hope you are not referring to me as a Troll because I am not.
I believe I was very measured in my article.
Anyway with your promise never to offer gifts/inducements/bribes again we can just learn from this lesson and move on...
