God is Not Dead Nor Doth He Sleep!
Jon Malcom
I heard the bells that december day
Whilst my tears flowed across my face
Looked to the Heavens wondered aloud
Is God dead? Doth he hear my shout?
(from my facebook page)
"God is not dead nor doth he sleep."
I have read your postings and I have seen the wicked that has inflicted this great nation. Sadly on my 22nd birthday I will not forget this, however many years ago in 1863 a man named Henry Wadsworth Longfellow penned a poem that became the lyrics to a famous song.
Please read this and think about our country fighting in the Civil War, where thousands died yearly. Learn of a man who had his son fight for the Union and get severly injured in fighting.

I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
and wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along
The unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
Till ringing, singing on its way,
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime,
A chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
Then from each black, accursed mouth
The cannon thundered in the South,
And with the sound
The carols drowned
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
It was as if an earthquake rent
The hearth-stones of a continent,
And made forlorn
The households born
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
And in despair I bowed my head;
"There is no peace on earth," I said;
"For hate is strong,
And mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!"
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
"God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The Wrong shall fail,
The Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men."

amen
not sure how killing 28 people before dying the wrong failing or the right prevailing.
Not sure how 618,000 soldiers in the Civil War dying was either. But in the long run the right prevailed and the Union stuck together.
Whoever destroys a soul, it is considered as if he destroyed an entire world. And whoever saves a life, it is considered as if he saved an entire world.

As long as good people do what they can, the right will prevail in the end.
Longfellow poems do have a nice feel. But even the children who read them ask "how come he believes bells above the centuries of consistent evidence; and what does God have to do with it since he must be an odd duck to be alive and awake and happily causing all this to occur"? I miss Hitch who, although assuredly dead, remains more persuasive than bells.
