Election Time - Reviewing the Candidates.

Day 1,748, 09:02 Published in Canada Canada by Vrykolaus Drauvik
Another month, another election.

Every month election time falls upon us and every month we vote for either the person we believe will make the most positive impact on Canada, a friend or someone within our political faction. The one thing that does change is the story behind every election. The beauty of this is, every single election has something that makes it quite unique.

The major difference on the exterior of this election is that we have a MDP presidential candidate. Last months election seen Jacobi's CPF and Tyrael Snow's Wolf Pack battling out for the winners circle with Jacobi winning with a margin of thirty votes. This year, we have Tyrael Snow once again flying the banner of the Wolf, ElPatoDiablo supporting the Moose sigil, IronToader respresenting the MOO party, Aeriala flying with the United Loyalist of Canada and Wally Cleaver, backed by the MDP and the Norsefire Coalition.

I would like to give you a little insight on the men running, from my eyes.

Tyrael Snow - Clan Wolf

Once the AFK Party and now Clan Wolf, Tyrael Snow has lead his pack to the number one spot in terms of political membership with a staggering 145 memberships. (24.3% of all party memberships)

During my entire existence on eRep, Tyrael Snow has been a stalwart figure in Canadian Politics and arguably the hardest working Politician in Canada.

Besides the competition ahead and a large party, victory is certainly not set in stone. Tyrael's public ranting towards Jacobi concerning his dismissal as VP has more or less left a sour taste in the mouth of the CPF party and a few other people questioning is tact on the situation. Tyrael has proven in past elections he can swallow up 30% of the votes consistently. I haven't seen much from Snow and the upcoming election. Could this be a sign of him burning out? Even wolves need rest.

Wally Cleaver - MDP

As an MDP member, I was very pleased to hear that Wally Cleaver had decided to run. It's no secret that the MDP has suffered over the last month due to a lack of consistent leadership, dropping down below one hundred members for the first time since I've been alive on eRep.

One of the most well-rounded men I have ever met, in terms of ability and personal character.

Wally is the only candidate in the field who has the experience of actually being a President, other then Aeriala. Top that off with being a congress member thirteen times, it's proven Canada has a love for this man.

Having the fourth, fifth and sixth ranked parties supporting your cause may help you sleep better at night, but refrain from taking the valium just yet. The strange dreams you will experience from this drug are the ones of hungry wolves. I hear they have a palate for Beaver.

ElPatoDiablo - CPF

I must say I was impressed with this man's platform. It's a fresh breath of air to see some effort. It reminded myself of when I first entered eRep and seen Tyrael's ambition. The problem is, I do not know this man. CPF hasn't gone enough into great length in promoting him either.

I like the CPF's tactical move of throwing young fish into a river of piranhas. Once he swims back to safety with only his spine, a few pieces of dangling flesh and one eye, he will have a taste of what politics in Canada is all about.

It's no secret CPF has no love for Tyrael Snow after the Jacobi/VP incident. I'm also certain they understand their candidate is an underdog. Would CPF be willing to throw MDP candidate Wally Cleaver some votes if The Wolf becomes too much of a threat?

IronToader - MOO

Supported by two additional parties besides the MOO (CanVision Party and the Canadian Paradox Party) this is proof he has took steps in communicating with the parties around him and is taking the needed steps to show Canada that he is a serious contender.

IronToader's platform concerning VAT's is the traditional approach Canada is used to witnessing.

Appointing Shoi as his VP, it is clear IronToader wishes for fresh blood within the veins of Canada. Not a bad choice, as Shoi has proven that not many Canadians can match his keen mind when it comes to foreign affairs. Toad has his work cut out for him if he wishes to compete with the candidates above. Perhaps there is a plan behind the iron curtain. Perhaps there is a Toad. Only time will tell.

Aeriala - ULC

Aeriala is the recent newcomer to enter the race, getting the support of the United Loyalists of Canada to back his bidding for a Presidential birth. I can't speak out of certain on why his arrival back into Canada has been less then hospitible, but lets just say there have been a few who are not impressed by his return.

Aeriala's voice on a few of Canada's recent topics concerning Taxes, especially MU's have not been presented in detail, although his idea's do have the opportunity to become more pronounced and even more desirable with the assistance of party discussions or a strong cabinet.

I imagine this one time President will have a small following that will conjurer up some votes on election day, but not enough to be a major front runner. If Aeriala decides to make the ULC his new home, it will take a lot of hard work to produce this small party into a powerhouse.

I think this will be an interesting election to watch unfold. Who will be Canada's next President?
