La U, los azules, el romántico viajero, el bulla, el león.

Fué fundado en 1929 siendo la rama deportiva de la casa de estudios de la Universidad de Chile. Es uno de los equipos mas grandes del país, Su escudo es un ave el Buho que representa la sabiduria y el conocimiento, el Buho usa los colores de la bandera Chilena Blanco, rojo y azul, colores patrios pero este ultimo color el que ocupan sus jugadores en la camiseta ya que es el color de la Universidad y representa las humanidades.

Sus principales idolos son: Leones Sanchez, Marcelo Salas, carlos campos, mariano puyol, diego rivarola y Jhony herrera.

El club cuenta con 18 campeonatos nacionales, 5 copas Chile y 1 sudamericana(2011).

Su barra es "Los de Abajo" una de las mas fieles del país, siendo sus principales lideres los patriotas Mono Ale y el Beto continuadores del progreso del Pinochetismo.

Su clasico es rival es Colo-Colo, (las zorras, indio hueco, incolores, etc..)
