Editorial 08: Day 1,342 - No One Fails Quite like the ANP!

Day 1,345, 01:07 Published in Australia Australia by Mr Crumpets

Today will mark an historic and rare occasion in the history of eRepublik Australia. It's an occasion where a Prime Minister will be impeached for his incompetence to lead the nation.

In a case of We told you so, this very newspaper warned you about DocterDry being PM back on Day 1,322...

This is my fear if DocterDry is elected... if things don't goes he's way (and let's be honest it happens to a number of our Prime Minister's), how will he re-act.

Will he start flaming people, making them leave the country or quit the game?

Will he blow his lid, do a Widds and start a war with a country?

Will he do an SC and clean out the country's accounts?

No one knows what DocterDry will do when the S*** hits the fan and to be honest, it's a gamble we cannot afford at the moment.

We were right about DocterDry flaming/trolling people.

We were right about a stupid war... hello New Zealand.

We were right that the nation started to worry when the S*** hit the fan with the TW and DocterDry stopped communicating with articles.

Now we wait to see if DocterDry will do the honourable thing and pass on all the government passwords... or will he raid the bank and do a runner?

Let's now take a look at DocterDry's promises he made to get elected.

Facebook - This is an idea i borrowed from our good friend Bass in eNew Zealand. If elected, i will establish a facebook page for eAustralia. This will be used as a tool to advertise our community around the place to attract new players and to educate new players with tutorials on the game and our community. The page would be established by my cabinet and specifically my education ministry.

Not Done. Claims made he would not do it because he was being trolled. Not good enough.

eAus website - This is another borrowed idea i got from a discussion on the eAus forums i was reading the other day. The idea was to update our community website and make it easier for community members to update it. If i win government i will try to work with XG (the website owner) to get this page updated. I will establish a group within the community who will look after the site and who will update the site with all information relevant to our community (Tutorials and other information etc)

Claims that XG did not want anything done to the site. If that was the case, he failed to canvass this with the citizen of Australia to ask if a new site should be set up?

2 clickers - I have noticed that eAustralia actually has a very large 2 clicker base that don't really get involved in the forums, irc and the community in general. Right now in the position we are in, we really need to harness this 2 clicker base and bring them directly into the community. IF i win government, i will work with my education ministry to contact all of eAustralias 2 clickers and provide them with information and help regarding how to get involved in our community and how best to help us out. This is where our facebook page and new updated website would come into play.

No real upswing in activity of 2 clickers on the forums.

New players - eAustralia really needs a new baby boom. This is why if my government wins the election, we will advertise on popular Australian forums and other Australian gaming forums to attract new players. I am aware this has been done in the past, but it hasn't been done on a mass scale. I believe if we do it on a mass scale it will attract alot of new players. I personally found this game by advertisement on a forum that i was a regular on.

Possibly the only real baby boom of notice was the ANP multies, which the admins sprung after the election.

Old players - Because of the state of eAustralia right now, eAustralia has had a massive brain drain. In other words alot of our regular playing citizens have left for overseas eCountries. Theres not much we can do on this front, but we could always try appealing to them to come back with personal messages and article. If our country starts to stabilize this will hopefully attract some people back.

Technically he did bring back some older players... all of them united in seeing DocterDry booted out of office.

Transparency/Communication - The biggest thing that has made past eAustralian governments bad is the lack of transparency and communication. One example of this recently is the whole deal thing with the indos. The government didn't inform the wider of community of what the hell was going on and only a few of the insiders knew what was going on and they started creating all these threads and articles saying "OMG TIM HOLTZ IS DOING THIS BUT I DIDNT DO THIS BUT HE SAID THIS AND I WANT THIS" which left everyone else saying "wtf is going on?" This is why Transparency and communication is key. If i win government, i promise that my government will be transparent and communication will be paramount. I will release a weekly Prime Ministerial article informing eAustralians of what is going on, even if nothing is happening i will write an article saying it. And i will certainly make article right away if something major happens. You can also count on regular articles from my ministries of work they are doing.

The BIGGEST fail of all. Once the expect trolling began, so did the regular news articles from the government. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen

Cabinet - I have a cabinet assembled to run the country for the next month if i am elected. I will be releasing my cabinet information in the next couple of days but i can assure you that the people in my cabinet are well known, trusted individuals who get things done, just like me. Under a government i lead, the cabinet will actually work as a team and will run the country together as a team. This is how an effective government should work. Look out in the next couple of days for my cabinet information.

A cabinet so trusted... that two were gone by the end of the first week.

EDEN - Since the beginning of time there has been a debate about whether or not we should be EDEN because of the amount of help we receive from them. It would be easy for me to say we should leave immediately but we must tread this line carefully. If elected, i will hold a review into our membership of EDEN and i will see how much help we have actually been receiving. After i complete the review i will immediately report back to the eAustralian people. In recent developments we have heard that terra and EDEN might be merging. This could make EDEN into a truly global alliance instead of a european centered alliance.

No press articles have been release of late explaining the EDEN situation... in fact n00bs might ask... what is an EDEN?

Indonesia - This is another tricky area. IF elected, my government will honor all current deals and agreements made by previous governments and will try it's best to make sure these deals and agreements stay in place for aslong as possible.

Indonesia has not been spoken about at all in recent weeks.

Neighbourhood - Over the period of eAustralia having very bad governments, we have made alot of our neighbors angry and we have shunned alot of them. If elected my government will try to branch out to our neighbours such as eNZ, Brazil and others to see if we can start our relationship over again and maybe build up a strong relationship. I would also like eAustralia to become closer to other countries in our Asia Pacific region like China, Thailand, Malayasia, India. This would be good for our defence.

DD's idea of good foreign affairs was to get into a TW with Serbia's New Zealand, when our forces could have been better used defending an ally in China.

ADF - I know alot of changes and restructuring has been happening within the ADF and the current defence minister Majester has been doing a great amount of work. I i win government, i will assure these great reforms to our ADF are kept in place and i will commission a review to see if there is anything else we can do to make our ADF more efficient and more strong as our National Defence. I would also like to increase funding to the ADF to make it more effective. Of course we aren't very rich at the moment, but i am hoping that some changes i have planned for our economy will increase tax revenue that we have to spend on the ADF.

DD was so popular with the ADF... they talk about going on strike!

MPPs - Another big talking point is our MPPs. There has been questions about whether or not some of our current MPPs are worth the money we spend on taking out the MPP. My government would commit to reviewing the performance of all of our MPPs and will cut any MPPs that are simply not giving us enough help. But of course this is a two way street, eAustralia needs to give out more help to our MPP partners. With this period of peace we are currently in, i strive to increase the amount of support we give to our MPPs in battles.

In the end, DD had to be pushed into making more MPPs.

Treasury - In eAustralias current situation, we really need strong treasury coffers. I aim to build our treasury up so we have a strong foudation. Gold/AUD is key to eAustralias military defence and it's survival over all. The health of our treasury is very dependent on alot of areas i have covered and is directly tied to them. Population, tax and growth all contribute to the health of the treasury so hopefully my objectives in those 3 areas will help our treasury increase. I also plan to review the budget to see if there are any savings to be had.

Everyone remember how the budget had to be revised?

Back on Day 1,322 I also said Unlike DocterDry who is a bag of wind... all talk, but nothing of quality ever done, H.Nelson has the runs of the board.

I've been proven right about DD, all talk, no results... now I wait to see if H.Nelson can pull us out of this mess.

I'm not expecting miracles or radical changes in his short time in the job, but I am expecting the ship to be put back on course for the next elected PM.

The best test starts now... will those who had a crack (including me) at the do nothing, can be trusted ANP Government... put there hand up and work hard to make eRepublik Australia.

My final comment goes to the ANP...

You have provided us with leaders who troll, divide the nation, get into stupid wars, rob the national bank and use multies to retain power.

Your party name is now tainted with failure and corruption... will you do the honourable thing and disband as a party, or will you remain that ugly wart on the political scene?

There's just one way only to describe DocterDry and the ANP...

I'm Mr Crumpets... and I was right!
