Day 1 - Blind Clicks
TheOnlineGamer
So I just joined this game today and am embracing the journey so many of you embarked long ago. As I try my best to get a grasp on what is going on around these parts, I find myself stopping on lvl 20 with not much more to do today, so I took it upon myself to spend the 2 gold and create this newspaper "The Online Gamer" and write this article. I wanted to call it "The Daily Grind" but that name was already taken.
As i logged on I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into. I followed the tutorial and in a matter of a few blind clicks I was on my way to doing things I was supposed to be doing. I ended up getting a job, creating my companies and working them myself (says I have to have 50 strength to explore employees), and busting thru energy bars fighting in the Canterbury battles until I hit lvl 20 with no more food/energy left. In fact, never actually knowing the location of Canterbury, I was compelled to find it on the map.
I had the option of joining a military unit at the start. I chose the US ARMY as they had over 3k players. I figured safety in numbers was a good thing. I learned that there are divisions, which seems like a cool gameplay concept. I am looking forward to fighting in the days to come and have fun with this game.
Not entirely sure anyone will read this as writing newspapers seems like a common thing in this game, nevertheless I wanted to take the time to appreciate everyone of you who have gone thru day 1 as I have....what a day of blind clicks eh???
If you are reading this, tell me about your experiences on day 1 or new experiences you had with this game in the comment section below.

Welcome to the game. Join a political party, ask questions. Feds have a lot of players that can help with advice and guide you.
Welcome. You can ave lots of goodies from the government, political parties and military units.
They have all special programs to help new citizens.
Read for example the DoCa newspaper of the government: erepublik.com/en/article/2653540
I think fighting in air is very good, you don't need weapons to be good there and (see the link I gave you) you will get free food for fighting. 😉
Check the feed of USA and you will find some more information. The same is in that of your military unit and when you have become a member of a political party, you will find there also some information on support programs.
The ten political parties on membership size you can find here: erepublik.com/en/main/rankings-parties/1/24
Have fun and prosper!
Hey.
I am just like you, in a weird sense.
I am a player who used to play this game a long time ago.
However, after coming back and trying to pick up where I left off, so much of the game had changed from what I remembered.
I ended up doing a bunch of blind clicking according to little popups and notifications that appeared.
You were lucky to have gone through the tutorial.
I am (re)learning this game just like a new player because the game I used to know is definitely not the same as what I remember.
Best of luck to you in your endeavors.
From what I understand, getting plugged in and going active is the way to get the most out of the game.

hi
Day 1 looked A LOT different when I had mine 8 years ago last week.
Wait, am I wrong or also your real birthday was some days ago?
yup
Even more so 9 years ago...
Welcome and enjoy !
Welcome in game and in Army. To get our commune job ask Jadiv (he's in our elite unit).
I don't remember a lot about my day 1, it was about 9 years ago! But I'm sure I was not alone, we were 6-7 good friends, the best way to start a new game.
Good luck for everything and ask questions anytime.
Best of luck! Welcome to the game!!!
great story about your first day. I'm returning and barely recognize the game, it has changed a lot since 2011. It feels a little overwhelming but at least there's lots of stuff to click on now. LOL
Welcome

hmm.. i spent 6 months on my corner 1st time : P
but there were far less interaction possible : )
don't hesitate to add people
and from worldwide
you'd get use of full shouts whole day
even ones in foreign languages
: D
On day 1, I was wandering where everyone was.
The answer was IRC. Today, we use Discord. https://discord.gg/nj6HP7J
I (as a fellow noob) suggest lots of waiting and saving up money to buy a house. DON'T spend more gold. you're gonna have to shuffle out IRL Cash to get Gold. I foolishly spent all my gold on upgrading the free training center and the USD-Gold conventer is locked until 50+ strength and that's when I can sell the spare parts for a bazooka in my storage. anyways welcome to the game ya Army Brat.
Bazooka parts cannot be sold unfortunately.
Do take advantage of community run giveaways, contests, and regular supply programs you're eligible for.
... whelp there goes that plan.

Welcome! Like several of those posting here, it has been quite a while since I joined the game at the request of my son, who stopped playing long ago. Keep following the quests, get involved, and you just may make some lifelong friends here. Above all, have fun!
Welcome! Good news, bad news. GN: You're on the right track and off to a great start! BN: Settle in for the long haul. Get to know some people. Chat it up. Then sit back and click. Many of us have been here for years. It's a long game. 🙂
Ask most any oldtimer for help and we'll gladly advise. There's a lot of little things to learn!
Welcome and enjoy!

Welcome, friendo. I'm almost as new as you. Only a month and a half old. I've had a great time playing with the guys I've been around. Just remember not to let anyone bully or pull you down and you're here to have fun.
Don't let these craven old geezers and crones get to you, they are , every one of them, attracted to the sweet smell of your young, fresh flesh. Stick with me and I will show you all the ropes, introduce you to the really important people and have you toasted by everyone from every corner of the empire.
Welcome aboard. 😃
