Congress are you for real right now stop proposing work tax changes
Addaway
Right that’s enough now, we have had three different tax rates in the past week, and four different proposals. We need to talk about how we use our in game buttons.
British Patriots, if you want to have low taxes then that’s fine, agree a proposed tax rate and then get it passed. It’s no good agitating for low taxes, proposing 2%, passing 2% and then immediately deciding that wasn’t good enough and proposing it go down to 1% barely a few hours later. For gods sake.
Now we can keep fannying about with WT all month as it gets proposed to go up and down and back again, or we can actually talk about what people want for the rate and try and understand why people feel the way they do??
Clearly, the argument for having a high(er) tax rate is to build up the eUK’s reserves to the conventional 1m cc maintained for use when bad times are a-coming our way. I haven’t a clue what we are on at the moment as nobody from the govt has graced us with those figures. Once we get to that 1m figure then I think none of the high-tax supporters would have an issue lowering it down to 1 or 2%, whichever is the sum needed to fund our MPP stack.
This isn’t a particularly revolutionary idea, and whether you agree with it or not can’t we just have it discussed and then vote and achieve some kind of consensus? Constantly screwing around with the tax rate is no way to run the eUK.
I ain't gonna complain if we have a debate and decide it would be better to put taxes at 1%, that's fine, but lets at least talk and weigh each side, before deciding for the long term. Not this bs.
Either BP can decide to engage with actual debate on the issue and we can resolve it in whichever direction, or the entire term can be taken up with proposal and counterproposal on tax.
Okay?
Comments
tl;dr
Stop fucking about with the tax rate every two seconds, you enormous silly clowns
Addaway you can't do politics can you.Take a deep breath and calm down.Stop swearing as soon as you swear the argument is lost.Until you can talk in a civil manner without insulting us please don't call us out.
"Either BP can decide to engage with actual debate on the issue "
That's that option out of the question
Sh1fty
I also find it Ironic that its the click that scream the loudest about the lack of COs when we are in trouble, that are also the strongest advocators for the lowest taxes
Exactly this
If I recall their mantra was 0% tax, huge CO's and massive quantities of weapons supplied free to everyone.
If you go back far enough their mantra was for 10%+ Work Tax https://www.erepublik.com/en/article/prince-harry-patriot-act--2581649/1/20
interesting and I like my comment - "I fully support much higher taxes, as I have done before - bonuses more than make up for any tax that people pay. For me - taxes would need to reach 24% before i was making less of a profit than i do with no bonuses and 1% tax. "
Unfortunately we realized all too late the benefits that max taxes would have brought us- because it can't be done now.
Although in his defence, that article was written at a time when wages were a 10% of what they are now. With such high wages, you don't need tax rates to be that high.
We never scream about CO's we fight for nothing you are making up stuff Dave to try and put us down but it is fake news.poor show mate.
Give me a break! No one cries more about the lack of COs, and what a huge sacrifise you are comitting when fighting for the UK for free than Dapper!
May a violin bow enter your anus
'I haven’t a clue what we are on at the moment as nobody from the govt has graced us with those figures'
And you will go on speculating as that branch of government runs for CP whilst I belatedly go inactive 😛
I had meant to try and reply to congress sooner on this...
With so much of our reserves not held within the Treasury utilised in our own Government Monetary Market Activity and as Government's investment within the BoE Monetary Market Trust an exact figure is hard to produce hence the move to monthly reporting.
However if I can't provide an exact figure, I should at least try and provide Congress an estimate of our non-Treasury reserve. I'd estimate that 1.8 million (although in a constant of flux between cc and gold).
*of Government currency is held within our Orgs.
1% wont even cover a reasonable stack of MPP's for a month.
The fact that 6% was too high and has not taken into account the surge in the average wage does not justify deliberately messing around in order to cause chaos. We haven't had any period of stability since the liberation to be able to produce any realistic figures as yet.
BP doing their thang.
Proposing laws-woah
And when they fail, proposing them again. And when they succeed, proposing contradictory ones. All within three days.

I want Higher CO's!!
I want more weapon subsidies!!
I want more Call to Arms!!
BUT
I also want to lower taxes NOW!!!!!
British Patriots politics is basically "But Mummy, I want it "
Are you making stuff up? We never ask for nothing! What are you taking about? British Patriots fights for the nation and wants lows taxes Big deal it's call politics.Your comment is nonsense and a personal attack but I guess that's how you operate but trying to make put down comments-I would except nothing less from the Left!
gosha, your party has more history than the last week. They've been doing this "But Mummy" thing since I joined.
If you're getting mad about it then run for BP PP and set what your party actually stand for and encourage debate. 🙂
Bloody lefty social justice warriors
A response from a member of Congress: https://www.erepublik.com/en/article/attacking-congress-is-not-the-way-2633116/1/20
To quote the reason why the proposer proposed it:
"After a short discussion in a congress thread i made the 6% proposal and put a message in both Congress thread explaining why. I also informed the Speaker. Nobody choose to debate it, and the proposal passed.
I made the proposal because after a war and long period of 1% tax, typically we increase the rate to replenish the Treasury."
The 6% was proposed and passed with little or no debate (and to be honest, I don't recall seeing the proposal and looking back at the congress message thread I was part of, it didn't appear to have been mentioned at all). Addaway says he thinks only 3 people replied. A lack of response is no thumbs up to propose if people want to complain about the BP proposing stuff without debate in congress.
Plus the fact they were very open about wanting to reduce the rate as part of their congress election pledges then you can hardly claim they are unexpected :/ I'm sure it can be argued that they have a mandate to do so.
"I'm sure it can be argued that they have a mandate to do so."
Except all 3 of the articles they produced were for proposing a 2% rate - so they have less of a mandate for their proposed 1% than everyone else!
Or the alternative is that as the BP were proposing 2% all 9 votes for 1% have come from the other parties!
Is Ash Brandon well? I've not seen him ask for the BP to be banned from threads due to its members putting up rogue laws to be voted on... 😛
All I have seen is British Patriot acting like gentlemen and the left trading personal insults and going low.
Keep up the good work British Patriots.
the left?
Trading?
Hey, I'm on the left, too! 😛
This article makes me want to propose a tax change...
me too lets do it
If i was in congress it would make me too.
Congress has shown with the first 6% proposal that it doesn't have the wit to understand the economy side of this game and what they do know seems to of been last relevant about a decade ago.
I had to ask my dirty spaniard MU commander for the correct figure where I'd make a tiny trickle of money and whilst he was a bit of a tool during the liberation phase (although I did myself profit from the better US bonus) he knows his monkeys and donkeys and how to play erepublik in 2017.
Heck! we're using his figures when we talk about 4% being the proper figure and he didn't explain outside of the private message the context of that figure and why the german tool is not 100% correct.
Do we actually have anyone in the UK let alone congress who cares enough to use a calculator and can actually have a debate on this?
Don't burst a blood vessel \o/
would be nice to be included in any congress group PM thread tbh. Not sure if that's a thing. It should be.
It is a thing. Unfortunately our speaker has still not created new Congress messages because he's "too busy".
Everythings expensive, wages are up, we dont produce enough goods, and overall I dont believe we need to tax this sector ATM. We need to encourage citizens to buy companies and get used to working and producing, we are also dependent very much on imports, that increases prices and if we need money we should tax import/extort and encourage producing, selling and supplying UK
eUK can't afford CO's anyway.
Keep taxes low and le the public fund the CO's. Most of the older guys are far richer than the eUK anyway and no doubt make more cash a day...
