Colonel Bruce: Slovenia and ASTERIA

Day 2,936, 03:19 Published in Romania Romania by Raul Doru

Dear readers, today I bring you another interesting interview, this time with the Country President of eSlovenia, Colonel Bruce.

Note that I won't change any words from Colonel Bruce answers and I won't translate the article in Romanian language, just not to alter his ideas or to became somehow subjective about some things. Thank you for your understanding!

1. Please tell me, in few words, a little bit about yourself as a player and how do you see the history of e-relations between Slovenia and Romania. As well, how do you think they will evolve in the future (both countries being part of the same alliance).

I am an experienced old player in eRepublik, my skills are both political and military.
I started to do politics when I realized I can help Slovenia with my connections worldwide. Before that, I've put all my efforts in my MU.
Slovenia has good relations toward Romania, we had many good cooperation in the past and as we are Asteria members I expect to continue with good relations in the future too.

2. If you can, please tell me what was behind those actions (together with Hungary and Poland) in some RWs in Greece. They failed in the end and after that Greece and Croatia did the same thing. But only Slovenia paid. What was to gain and what to loose for you?

Regarding combined military operations against Greece, Slovenia wanted to retaliate for mistreated actions of Greece toward us. Slovenia had MPP with Greece 3-4 months ago, we helped Greece when they were wiped from Fyrom (before NAP was signed).
Then when Serbia was deleted from Croatian and Albanian side, as good allies, we rush to help together with Hungary. So we attacked Croatia, and then the Greeks were tanked very hard against Slovenia, and we were offended by this action, so we had to show them that. Then we tried to help old friend Hungary reclaim their bonuses in German regions.
So we wanted to show Greece we didn't forget insults and we wanted to help old friends.
That is why we went against Greece at that point!

3. What do you think about the relations between Romania, Hungary and Serbia? How do you think they will evolve and affect (possibly) the unity of Asteria?

As I was SG Asteria when Hungary exit Asteria, I then realized how complicated relations are between Hungary and Romania. Serbia did a great job preventing ever lasting dispute to turn into full scale war between Hungary and Romania.
That is what is holding Asteria in check for quite some time, and I hope it will in future too."

4.There were plenty players that said that Slovenia sided Hungary and Poland in their efforts to disband Asteria (based on your solitary actions together with 2 non-Asteria countries). What's Slovenia's position related to these accusations and are you (as a member state) satisfied with the current path and role of the alliance?

Those accusations get my blood a little warmer, because they can't be more far away from the truth. Being for few times SG of Asteria, I believe that the alliance must stay alive.
Asteria is the only way for Slovenia. So I would never compromise the alliance by my actions.
You should know, Greece came to central Europe first, and tried to mess with the balance we (Poland-Hungary-Slovenia) have here. We developed very good relations with Poland and lately with Hungary, and we want to cooperate, since we are good neighbors, and have common interests in the region.
As for Asteria s path?
I was disappointed to see members of Asteria fighting on opposite sides. It made me a bit sad, because Greeks are constantly helping Croatia in military operations over the past year against Asteria members. But it seems some Asteria members forgot about this very quickly :/

5. In your opinion, what is the future of Asteria, taking into consideration that there are at least 2 powerful groups working against it? In worst case scenario, if Asteria will fall apart, and other 2 alliances will be formed, how do you see them (talking about their potential big members)?!

I think Asteria won't fall apart, because the majority of Asteria members realize that they can't be together with some other countries.
It's simple. Serbia can not be together with, for example Greece, Croatia, Poland, Turkey, Romania can't be together with Hungary or Poland, Croatia can't get together with Serbia, Poland, Fyrom and Bulgaria. That's why, even if they are good friends to Chile, they can't form an alliance and wish to destroy Asteria, so they could take Romania and Argentina on their side. I must admit, they try to get it done really hard.
There are many more examples I can give you, but point is that game lasted for 8 years now and many countries burned bridges toward each other in the past and can never be together again.
That is why Asteria will survive and I suspect other alliances won't be made at all in near future 😉
We, in Asteria, will have to get used by occasional hitting against each others on some battlefields, but in the end, we will 100% fight for members of Asteria, if attacked by whomever.
That is the point of Alliance after all!

Thank you, Colonel Bruce, for your answers! It was a real pleasure having you as guest in my newspaper!
