China outlasted the siege. Is ONE crumbling?

Day 1,348, 04:48 Published in Romania Australia by Nerx

Hello!

I was going to write an article yesterday, but unfortunately my spare time was very limited.
In my previous article (almost 2 weeks ago), I was addressing a question regarding the goals ONE had. They were on the verge of conquering China, but Hungary saved the day. A RW in Jiangsu was lost before Serbia and Poland could completely erase China. Because Jiangsu was bordered only by Hungarian regions, Poland couldn't reach it. All in all, they were so close, but yet so far.

Hungary
They encountered a major setback when EDEN won in Burgenland, the very region that connects Hungarian original territories to the rest of their colonies. Hungary also lost to German and French resistances. Slovakia wanted to help by declaring Austria as a natural enemy in order to attack Burgenland before Croatia could. Moreover, Austria (PTOed?/friend of Hungary?/paid by Hungary?) started a war against Hungary, since the latter one had already an opened one against the US (they lacked connections to their Asian colonies). That was one huge mistake for them. I guess that's also the reason the Hungarian CP was proposed to be impeached the next day. More than a week since they lost all their gained bonuses, they proposed an attack on Croatia directly.

Slovakia
They took Burgenland from Austria, but Croatia soon seized the opportunity to attack them. Burgenland was afterwards conquered and as a result they trapped Hungary in a "cage". Momentarily, the Croats are fiercely defending Burgenland from any resistance and in addition they also fight their direct war with Slovakia (last region conquered being the Western Slovakia – and at the same time isolating Bratislava).

Mistakes
Needless to say, everybody makes mistakes - some more frequently than others, either by overestimating themselves or by underestimating their opponents. Or even both. FYR Macedonia and Cyprus started having some divergences over some regions and their 'negotiations' lead nowhere but to a war between them. EDEN, in cooperation with the INCI group, started then liberating Italian and Greek regions (which were under FYR Macedonian command). Because of the RL/IG hatred, as soon as FYR Macedonia wiped Egypt, it proposed Greece as a natural enemy (which I consider a bad move since the Greek regions did not offer them any bonuses). Nonetheless, they made little progress, since the resistance wars were continuously lost. Ultimately, after losing many Italian regions and the Swiss one, they intentionally lost Umbria (capital city) in order to relocate their main city in Egypt. Yet, they still have few bonuses, after losing the Saudi Arabian connection, northern Egyptian regions and Cypriot ones. They also lost their winning spree in the MPP battles and will further encounter tough resistance, whilst most ONE countries face difficulties at the moment and won't provide much of a help.

Serbia
The next county that made it to EDEN's and TERRA's ‘to-do list’ is Serbia. Serbia always wanted to invade the US. They tried it 3 months ago, going through Bulgaria and Russia, but were eventually stopped by China. Now, with ONE ultimately dominating in every battle, they tried once more. This time, they took another route - since Far Eastern Russia was in the hands of Poland - through China and Taiwan. Having the ‘empire’ so expanded, Serbia was prone to having various resistance wars. And of course, while America has quite a lot of regions, in the event of Serbia losing linking regions, they would need to wait to open another war.
Starting with yesterday, Serbia is undergoing numerous resistance battles against Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Italy, Romania, Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, China, India, Taiwan and the US. In addition, they have another 2 active wars (against Romania in Bukovina – which they lost and against the US in Nevada – besieged; tight score; Serbia won with 8 to 7, alas the Americans will have to try harder to turn the tables). Still, they started to lose one region after another (up till now they lost 14 regions in one day) . Some of them were key regions, like Moscow and Central Russia (resources in Asia), Crișana (resources in Ukraine) or Montenegrin Coast (oil in Italy). The next few days (weeks) will tell the fate of the Serbian Empire.

Romanian – Serbian treaty
The Serbian - Romanian war, which was pretty much staged, while a 'treaty' was ‘signed’ by the presidents, was scheduled to end tomorrow. On the other hand, after losing Crișana in a RW war, which is a 'deal breaker', it's quite obvious Serbia will reject the peace (the treaty is now void), thus trying to regain Crișana and boost their bonuses a bit (Ukrainian regions with grain and saltpeter). Romania still has the initiative (Maramureș), and Banat is under attack. Should it be lost to Romania, Serbia’s bonuses recovery will be further delayed.

Looking back at the past week, I’d say that ‘spring’ is indeed ‘coming’. With a lot of surprises for Poland, Spain and probably even Sweden.
