Beer for AMP Party President!

Day 2,642, 06:08 Published in USA USA by beerman616

I know I'm a little late to the party, but I wasn't planning on running for a couple more months. However, there appears to be a shortage of people willing or able to take on the mantle of the Party Presidency. I'm here to stand up to that challenge, if you'll have me!

Most of you have seen me around for quite awhile, and some of you may remember me from years back. Here's a little history of my time in the game, I'll keep it short, I promise I'm not a man of many words.

I started playing back in February of 2009, so I'm coming up on my sixth birthday... I don't know what's wrong with me either. I 2-clicked along for awhile, then I started getting involved in the old JCS Military, where I eventually rose to Commanding Officer of the Mobile Infantry. Those were great times, and I am thankful for the experience and all the people I met way back then. Some of them are even still playing. Managing a that many people was hard work. I like to think I did it rather successfully.

After retiring to the eMarines and subsequently taking a break from the game completely for about a year (wedding, moving, new job, all that fun RL stuff), I came back to a JCS military that wasn't as familiar as it used to be. I opened up my own MU and started following NSC orders for important battles. Ever since coming back I've been with the AMP. I started out pretty lazily, just hanging around the forum and learning a new game, but over the last 6+ months I have been paying more attention and have been in congress for, I think, three terms in a row now. I was a Deputy Speaker under DMJ last month.

There are still things I want to accomplish in this game, and I would like to do that with the AMP.

As for past positions, I don't have any hands on experience in the party world, but here are the ones I can remember:

9x congress member
1x Deputy Speaker
SCI member currently and I believe once or twice years ago
CO of MI branch of old eUS Military (and all officer positions below that as well)
NSC Deputy once or twice

It is a short list compared to many others here, but I know I will put the effort into the PP if elected. I will also surround myself with experienced staff, and together we will do good things.

My plans for this term, if elected, are relatively simple. The two biggest problems facing our party are membership and activity. The good news? The solutions are pretty simple as well. To boost our membership we need to be messaging new players and current members need to actively and consistently promote the party. This can be done in your shout feed, by writing articles, on the forum, IRC, anywhere really.

A side effect of boosting our membership will be increasing activity. More people = more activity, especially when we can get them to the forums. Raising activity on the forum will also help keep more people sticking around. We need to utilize the experience that the AMP has at it's disposal. Positive posts in the forums and a willingness to help new players learn the game can only do good things for our party.

Remember to vote for beer on Sunday!
