Collective narcissism, simply put is a group of narcissist who place themselves above other groups of people. Pretty simple, right? The idea of narcissism makes that easy to understand. The idea behind this article is why?

Why do we place our own personal group on a pedestal above other groups. Political parties, Military Units, Alliances, whatever clique you belong to. Is this a natural occurrence, do we need to seek psychiatric help? Is everyone in this game a narcissist or is it simply the group mentality.

The dynamics of this game rely heavily on players belonging to a group. If you don't belong to any clique, you're seen as an inferior player, unless you can turn the tides of battles on your own. Human nature is to fit in, we like to be liked and there's simply nothing we can do about that. You join a PP or a MU and become part of the team, you're given the feeling that you're important and you start to fill with ePride for your team.

Eventually you have a run-in with your eRival team. This is when the group dynamic turns hostile. You and your fellow teammates start to mudsling and talk trash to your rivals. These individuals in turn begin talking trash back to you in defense of their group.

This is intergroup hostility. The primary form of hostility that we see here in the eUS. Certain groups butting heads with one another constantly over something which should be dealt with by utilizing level heads and no emotions. By placing your own group's beliefs above another groups beliefs, of course you will always think your way is the right way to do things. Instead of trying to see each other eye to eye and work toward a solution like players from the same team, you want to bite the head off of your "rival".

Another type of hostility is intragroup hostility. This is where members from a certain group are battling each other. Normally this is a sign of turmoil in the clique and a potential power vacuum that different people want to fill. This can be exponentially more dangerous in certain cases. It can lead to in-fighting within very select groups of individuals who can be deterred from accomplishing useful progress in the nation.

I will not and have not put any particular groups on blast in this article for a number of reasons, the primary one being, I consider myself extremely neutral. I personally could not possibly care any less which way anything goes in this game, If I don't like the tune of things, I'll fall back into my minimal level of activity until the s#itstorm passes. On that note, America in general, you are on blast. I have called you out.

Everyone who participates in this collective narcissism should take a step back and take a deep breath. Look at what you're doing, look at the goals of the nation. Look at the goals of your so-called "rivals" and figure out where the middle ground is. Find the happy medium. Work toward something that is attainable, you will never make everyone happy at the same time and I will personally guarantee that to you right now because I will never be happy with what you've done. There is always room for improvement and I am confident that if any community on this game can do it, the eUSA is most certainly the absolute best one to give it a shot.

That's a pretty narcissistic statement I just made. Maybe I should go see a shrink. Who's coming with me, maybe we can get a group discount.
